Though the name Casablanca sounds a bit odd for a pergola and portico garden-themed resto, the ambience sets this cafe second to none. Casablanca scores a 5⭐ with ease when it comes to ambience and vibe. With most reviews mentioning it aplenty, let me move on to that which matters most - the food.
A quick glance at the menu would reveal that most of the dishes are snacks like tapas. Keep in mind that this place is essentially a restocafe with a few main course options. There are sandwiches 🥪, burgers 🍔, omelettes 🍳, nuggets and pops, and hot/cold beverage options 🍵☕🍹. So if one's looking for a proper meal/lunch, this may not be the right place for you.
I tried the nuggets which tasted fine but definitely not something about which one can say wow. The pops were a disappointment. They were too crunchy and oily, and a few of them were burnt. I tried both the hoagie and panini sandwiches and they are surely the best in town. They do stand out when compared to similar restos around. Among the main course options, I tried the fried rice 🍚. It was not just too oily. The rice chosen to make it was a huge let-down. In addition, there weren't much veggies, celery, or spring onions but onions 🧅. To sum it up, the food prep here is a mixed bag.
And regarding service, sift through all the reviews and you'd find that I'm just one among many others to point this out - the service here is too slow ⌚. Snail's pace🐌. Surely this is not a place where you can rush in for...
Read moreI recently visited CasaBlanca and had a mixed experience 🤔. The atmosphere and ambience were undoubtedly the highlight of my visit - it's truly one of the best in town 🌆! However, the food was a bit of a letdown 🍴.
While some dishes were delicious and lived up to my expectations 👌, others were surprisingly off the mark 🤢. The beef chilly, in particular, was a disappointment ❄️. With only about 5 small pieces of beef, and a disproportionate amount of fat, it felt like a sparse and ungenerous serving 🍖️.
But what really threw me off was the order in which the dishes were served 📦. In a bizarre twist, the dessert arrived first, followed by the starters 🍰👀. I was still trying to wrap my head around the sweet treat when the buffalo chicken wings arrived at the end of the meal, feeling like an afterthought 🍗.
Despite these missteps, I must commend CasaBlanca on its commitment to flavor 💡. When the dishes hit the mark, they were truly delicious 😋. With a bit more attention to consistency and service, this restaurant could easily become a top choice in town 🏆. As it stands, the atmosphere alone is worth a visit - but come with tempered expectations for the food 🍔.
Rating: 3/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Would I recommend it? Yes, but with caveats 🤔. If you're a foodie, you might want to approach with caution 🚨. But if you're looking for a great spot to relax and enjoy a drink, CasaBlanca's atmosphere...

We ordered the Naichor combo, and it was so tasty and delicious! The flavors were rich and satisfying, clearly made with love and attention to detail. A special shoutout to their Ra Ra Chicken as well — it’s a must-try for any non-veg lover!
What truly warmed my heart was the amazing customer service. They even gave a sweet treat for my kid, and seeing the joy on my child's face made the experience even more special. It’s rare to find places that go the extra mile like that.
Everyone at home loved the food — it was a hit with all age groups!
Wishing the new team at Puthina Casablanca all the very best. I'm sure you’ll soon become one of the top food spots in Cherthala. Stay blessed and keep up the great work!
