Kadamakkudy kallu shapu — Restaurant in Kerala

There are two toddy shops at Kadamakkudi. One of the roadside (this shop) and other on the valiya kadamakkudi. Most of the people confused about both of these shops. This shop is situated on the roadside and thus easily accessible. A small hall room based arrangement. The kitchen is not separated with the dining area. Locals are the main visitors here. On weekends there will be a little rush. Several non-veg dishes are available here. Every dish has a domestic taste. Toddy is also good. Vegetarians will struggle here. The problem is facilities are much limited, even there is no washroom here. You can just have the food and drinks and leave. Ambiance is there outside the shop since that area is naturally blessed. Photogenic place. At least they can arrange in a way that everyone can enjoy the ambiance. The surroundings are neat and clean. No proper lighting arrangements inside the shop.Pricing is reasonable. Toddy is of natural origin when compared to other toddy shops in this genere. But the ambience is kind of out of the norm though it faces an excellent scenery of backwaters dotted with Chinese nets and speeding country boats.It’s a temporary shed made of metal sheets with no flooring,fan, and toilet-bit unsuitable for families.Food is just average compared to other shops. If you follow google,the journey to the shop is an arduous one with very narrow lanes and a ferry to cross. Better come via Varappuzha instead of Pizhala and then varappuzha- kadamakkuddy road. Either way it's breathtaking natural beauty all around, with non ending expanses of backwaters,islands, chinese nets, country boats and what not.The arduous journey and not so good experience at the shop is compensated by the enchanting...

Very bad experience We had a terrible time at this kallu shapu. We ordered specific items, but they gave us something completely different without even informing us.

The food was awful — cold, tasteless, and clearly unhygienic. And expensive.

At last they claimed they don’t have Google Pay, didn't even say about that, we haven't no ready money with us, but later gave us a number to pay through — and even had the audacity to ask for extra money just for using GPay! Completely dishonest behavior. They showed no respect at all and behaved very rudely.
