The travel there is ok. The path is a bit narrow, so you might have a bit of trouble going by car. After reaching a certain point, you will have to park your car and walk for about 500metres. The location of the shop is in the midst of water logged fields. The ambience is quite good. Talking about the food, we tried out the duck curry, pork roast, parotta, karimeen curry and shellfish (kallumeka) masala curry. The parottas are quite big compared to normal size. The karimeen curry was the best I've tasted so far, spicy and tangy to perfection. We also loved the duck curry which was spicy as well, but it was delicious. Pork roast was satisfactory, but didn't find much meat in the plate. All the other dishes were quite good as well, but not as much as expected. They have a separate section for family, however there isn't much privacy as such, but the customers in general are not exactly loud and noisy so I couldn't say if it would be a problem. The atmosphere was quite relaxed. The only turn off for me personally was that there isn't enough space for seating. The existing seating arrangement is not able to seat the steady stream of customers coming into the shop and there was a significant number of customers waiting for seating. Apart from that, it's worth a visit. Please do try the karimeen curry. You won't regret it (unless you're not a fan...
ย ย ย Read moreThe most overrated toddy shop in cochin. To reach here is a tiresome effort and have a little parking place. The roads are very congested and we need to walk a distance to reach here. Reached here reading the review online by many people but was really disappointed. While I was there at least 3 customers left the place without having anything. One major problem here is they don't accept any mode of payment other than cash. Now a days it's very difficult for us and there are no atm nearby. The place is not that hygienic and the availability of fresh water is arguable. There was a couple of pedestrial fans which were working on solar system and the same was not working then. It was too hot inside the place. The attitude of the staff need much improvement and I wonder the way of talking of them to the customer. I have visited padipura toddy shop many times and they are providing great service and attitude towards clients.
And it is being said this place is family friendly. But I really don't feel a family friendly atmosphere there as there is always a bad smell around from the...
ย ย ย Read moreVery bad place to go with family, staffs are very rude, they are not at all interested to serve food or toddy, and the bottles were very dirty, and they serve in a very bad manner, not at all welcoming . The area itself is very dirty and food kept unsafely, in open pans and many cats were jumping over and around, wonder if they were eating too from the open pans !!! Food quality is very poor and fish we had was not cleaned properly, the skin of the fish was not taken, so you can imagine how it tastes. It was a disaster experience, they must improve the quality, as so many people want to visit kadamakkudy. It is such a pathetic situation that they treat people such a bad way. Also they were throwing all the food wastes and plastics to the water , into the river which is very bad. I hope the authorities will take care of...
