There are meals… and then there is KFC. No, scratch that. There are divine interventions dressed in eleven herbs and spices, and then there is KFC. This is not just food. It is a revelation. A poultry-powered pilgrimage to the golden gates of flavor. A crispy-fried awakening of the soul.
It began on a Tuesday—an ordinary, gloomy day, the kind where the clouds mope and the sun clocks out early. I, a humble mortal plagued by hunger and existential dread, wandered aimlessly through the urban jungle. And then, like a shining beacon in the storm, I saw it: the red and white temple of Colonel Sanders. His wise, bespectacled face called to me from the signage above, whispering in an accent I didn't know I understood, “Come on in, y’all.”
I obeyed.
As I crossed the threshold into this deep-fried sanctum, the smell hit me like a tidal wave of love and cholesterol. It was as though a thousand chickens had laid down their lives for a higher cause. My knees went weak. My mouth, dry. My wallet? Wide open.
I ordered the legendary bucket—the Holy Grail of greasy gastronomy. When it arrived, it wasn’t just food. It was art. Nay, it was a Michelangelo sculpture made of meat. Each piece glistened with golden, crackling skin, the result of some arcane alchemy involving a pressure fryer and the lost manuscript of spice sorcery.
I took my first bite.
Time stopped. Somewhere, a choir of angels burst into a gospel rendition of “Hallelujah.” My taste buds did backflips. I briefly transcended space and time. For one shimmering second, I could see everything—the secrets of the universe, the path to inner peace, the Colonel’s original recipe etched into the stars.
And the sides! Mashed potatoes smoother than a jazz saxophone solo. Gravy that flowed like a river of molten ambrosia. Biscuits so flaky, I texted my ex just to compare. The coleslaw? A crunchy, tangy masterpiece that sang songs of garden-fresh harmony.
But the pièce de résistance? The satisfaction. The kind of fullness that wraps around your soul like a warm Southern hug. I left that KFC a changed person. Wiser. Stronger. Slightly greasier.
So if you’ve never been, I beg you: go. Go now. Cast aside all doubts, throw on your stretchiest pants, and submit to the power of the chicken. Because KFC isn't just a fast food joint—it’s a portal to nirvana, one crispy drumstick at a time.
Final Verdict: 11/10. Would sell my soul for...
Read moreThe worst experience I ever had from a KFC outlet, or rather you can say any fast food outlet. Even local restaurants are far better when considering my experience I had here on Feb 15, 2021.
My wife and myself went here and were trying to order. Despite the fact that they didn't have burgers and many other items, we decided to order. When trying to pay, i realized that I had forgotten my wallet in my car which was in the parking lot. But then I reminded myself that this is 2021 and there are other ways other than cash/card such as UPI, NFC, MST etc. To my utter surprise, they said their only POS machine (?!) doesn't support NFC or MST payments and the outlet doesn't accept UPI payments. I was confused and tried to remind the executive over there that this is 2021. Then I tried to order via app and the order was placed. I was informed via the app that the order will be delivered within 15 mins. I waited for 15 mins patiently, and even after 20 mins, my order was not delivered. I went upto the desk and asked the person who told me they had not received the order. Then some other person over there came and told they had received the order and is under preparation. After some time, I got a delivery, with half the items. They said the other half was being prepared and would be delivered within some time. It took me another half an hour to get my other half of the order. Between that I ordered a soft drink. I showed it to a staff at the outlet and he was not quite understanding that. He told me he had never seen such a thing (KFC application). Then he went to his colleagues and came back asking which app did I order from. I told it is the KFC application. He went back still looking confused. Somehow he delivered the soft drink.
I had never encountered such a staff - they don't have enough amenities an international outlet should have; one of their staff members doesn't have any idea about the KFC application; the waiting time is so long that you can even go watch a movie and come back and still they would say your item is under...
Read moreA Finger-Lickin' Good Experience at KFC, Sobha City Mall, Thrissur Last night, my friends and I decided to indulge in a late-night craving at KFC, located within the bustling Sobha City Mall in Thrissur. With our appetites roaring, we opted for the 8-piece chicken combo, adding two extra buns for good measure. While the bill came in at a hefty 1450 rupees, the question remained: was it worth the price? The Food: The star of the show, of course, was the fried chicken. The crispy exterior gave way to juicy, flavorful meat, seasoned to perfection. The secret blend of herbs and spices that KFC is renowned for truly shines through. The fries, while standard fast-food fare, were crispy and well-salted, a satisfying accompaniment to the main course. The creamy eggless dip added a delightful touch, complementing the savory flavors of the chicken. The Service: The service at the KFC outlet was efficient, with our order being processed and delivered relatively quickly. The staff were courteous and helpful, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The Ambiance: The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, with comfortable seating arrangements. The vibrant decor and energetic atmosphere added to the overall dining experience. The Verdict: While the price tag may seem steep, the quality of the food and the overall dining experience make it a worthwhile indulgence. If you're a fan of fried chicken and don't mind splurging a bit, KFC at Sobha City Mall is definitely worth considering. However, it's important to note that the cost might be a deterrent for some, especially considering that it's a fast-food joint. For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, exploring other eateries within the mall could be a better choice. Ultimately, the decision to dine at KFC is a personal one. If you're willing to pay a premium for a satisfying meal, then this outlet delivers on its promise of...
