The much awaited food experience @ United coconut finally happened. I must say i was not disappointed. To summarise my 2 visits. Superior service, you call anyone they know what each dish is made up of, they run and come to you to serve you. Since we wanted to taste more than 1 dish, we ordered the feast set menu, it's a combo of almost all the signature dishes.. Each dish in the menu can be repeated how many times you want.
Changing my review from 4 to 2 after our 3rd visit. I don't know what had happened. Either the chef has changed or they just don't take any interest in their cooking anymore. This time we ordered thenga choru, nool porotta, chicken fingers, prawn ulli and chicken chatpata. The nool porotta was the worst. I'm sure it's not fresh and has been cooked some time back. It was beyond pathetic. The chicken dish and the prawn dish tasted the same. It was the server who recommended that we order these 2. He should have told us that it would taste the same. The only saving grace was the chicken fingers but that's something that anyone can cook and you get anywhere. Extremely disappointed and not worth the trip all the way...
Read moreThis is my 4th time experience with united coconut at sobha city mall thrissur. Each time i visit this place i hope service would improve. Today we promised ourselves that we will not dine anymore here since it was really disastrous and im still fuming thinking about it. Food quality has deteriorated & customer service was downright atrocious. Mr Suresh, the manager there i believe, creates a toxic atmosphere with his unacceptable behaviour. During all my visits here; i have noticed him dismissive and defensive. When customers try to address their concerns or feedbacks; he talks over them interrupting them mid-sentence. Initially our server was Mr Sreekanth who was very polite and lovely in nature who greeted us and gave us the menu for order. We ordered a couple feast and since our child (10 years) was with us who is a vegan, we ordered additional breads for her. Later, Mr Suresh arrived at our table with an air of superiority, looking down his nose at us, again for taking or rather clarifying the order. He downright arrogantly told Couple offer cant be taken along with child. We told we are not including child for this menu and have already ordered breads for her. He seemed put off by our presence from the start. He told if we share our food with child he will charge for 3 persons and thus couple offer wont be valid. We were met with eye-rolling, sighs and even a few choice words under his breath. I dont know why he behaves like this everytime. Each time we went this place our experience was ruined by Mr Suresh the arrogant manager. I experienced each time i visited here that he size customers up based on their appearance and gives a condescending smile. We were disappointed with the blatant disrespect he showed us and he looked at us with a mixture of disdain and suspicion to know whether we share our food with our child. He rather felt peaceful after assuring that my child is not sharing our food with her. He has a serious attitude problem and needs to learn how to treat customers with respect. Rather than the food quality, the manager Mr Suresh's behaviour was the sole reason for our poor experience with United Coconut, Sobha city mall...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at United Coconut restaurant located at Sobha City Mall in Thrissur, and I must say it was a delightful experience for my family of eight. The restaurant offers a wonderful seating arrangement and the overall ambience was cozy and inviting.
To start our culinary journey, we decided to explore a variety of appetizers. The Sambharam Pani Puri, Kerala Pappadam Chaat, and pazhampori Chaat were bursting with flavors and provided a unique twist to traditional street food. The InjiPuli Chicken Wings were a tangy delight, while the Rasam Soup and Venad Paal Konj warmed our hearts.
Moving on to the main course, we indulged in a wide selection of dishes that showcased the diverse flavors of Kerala cuisine. The Appam and Idiappam were light and fluffy, perfectly complementing the rich and aromatic Vegetable stew Pasta. The Fish Nirvana, a signature dish, was an absolute showstopper with its impeccable presentation and tantalizing taste. The Naadan Kizhangu kozhi Curry and Kappa Varutharachath were true delights, providing a spicy kick to our palates. The Idimulaku Irachi varattu, a dish infused with black pepper, left us craving for more.
For refreshing beverages, we opted for the Sulaimani Tea, Lime Juice, and Strawberry Mojito, each crafted with precision and offering a refreshing burst of flavors.
To end our culinary extravaganza on a sweet note, we savored the Paalada Paayasam, a traditional Kerala dessert. The creamy texture and perfectly balanced sweetness left us in awe of the chef's expertise.
Overall, our dining experience at United Coconut was exceptional. The attention to detail in every dish, from preparation to presentation, was evident. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent service throughout our meal. If you're looking to explore the rich flavors of Kerala cuisine in a comfortable setting, United Coconut is the place to be. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant for an unforgettable...
