I had a terrible experience at Malabar express in trivandrum airport when we went for breakfast. Most of the items in their long menu was not available. It would have been just simple of the person taking the order telling is the only single thing that is available than wasting our time with other options. I had asked 4 different items before I figured out that idli sambar is the only available item ( even Vada wasn't available). When I tried to make a payment via UPI, the QR code kept there took me to some adani pay page. I refused to install and link my account to one more app and asked him to provide a simple UPI QR which was refused. I paid by card. Unfortunately the person after me tried to pay via the adani QR and was not able to link their account and gave up and went without ordering after wasting 5 minutes trying. I don't understand why a simple QR can't be kept when you are charging whatever you want anyway. We ordered tea, coffee and idli sambar. The sambar was okay, the chutney was pathetic. As compared to the food at other airports this was absolutely bad. The charges are on par or maybe lower than many airports but the taste and quality of food is appalling. The coffee and tea were okay. Would recommend avoiding this place...
Read moreThe Malabar Express store at this airport is an absolute disgrace and a blatant scam. They accept orders but fail to process them, and only after relentless complaints do they haphazardly fulfill them—often with incorrect items. When confronted, they conveniently justify the errors with dismissive excuses like, “This is what was ordered” or “This is what we have.”
To make matters worse, when asked who is responsible or who manages the restaurant, they brazenly claim to be operating under the Adani Group’s banner. Yet, they shamelessly deny the valid grievances of numerous frustrated customers.
While this may be a small airport, it is no excuse for such appalling service. At the very least, have the integrity to call an orange an orange. It is baffling—and frankly concerning—how a reputed conglomerate like Adani Group could be associated with such an incompetent and disgraceful establishment.
God help the person managing this outlet—and God help the unfortunate...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience at this restaurant recently. We ordered a tea and a coffee which was a total waste of money. A person was standing nearby to ask what we were ordering, then he asked us to pay by UPI which took us to the Adani page. We denied this. I don't understand why simple UPI payment does not work there. In addition, the Boarding pass details are required to pay the money. I don't understand how can they collect these informations there. Overall very bad service. We would not recommend...
