Planter's Kitchen — Restaurant in Kerala

Planter's Kitchen, a large restaurant within Sterling Resort, had a mixed impact. Upon entering, an odd and somewhat unpleasant odor was noticeable. Arriving later in the evening meant several tables were still uncleared with remnants of previous meals.

We ordered à la carte, selecting the Chicken Biriyani and Tandoori Chicken. The Chicken Biriyani, priced at ₹699 + 18% GST, was flavorful but the portion size was surprisingly small, especially considering the cost. It seemed to be the same as what was offered at the buffet, making the price feel unjustified. The Tandoori Chicken, however, was quite good.

The 18% GST on the bill was noted, and the manager's willingness to offer a discount was a positive aspect.

In conclusion, Planter's Kitchen is currently expensive for the quantity and overall ambiance. While the Sterling Resort itself might offer some appeal for a visit, the restaurant needs considerable attention regarding cleanliness, portion sizes relative to price, and the condition of its furnishings.
