Read moreA couple of days back, my wife and I visited this clean and well maintained vegetarian restaurant on the main road near Amala Hospital with ample parking space in front as well as in the rear side.
The entire area is filled with an ambience of affection. Right from Ms Shyla at the cash management counter to the well groomed friends whom we can otherwise call waiters, all welcome you with a smile.
For those who are in the middle of a long drive this place gives a good break, be it snacks, meals, light refreshments or a well maintained washroom.
The meals are served in plantain leaves. Almost all the items exclusive to Kerala are available, with a taste that reminds us of mother's care. Exclusive in preparation and excellent in presentation they are a real feast. On enquiry we were taken to the kitchen and shown how hygienically each item is cooked/made.
It will not be complete if I do not mention the mouthwatering and aromatic ghee roast in the company of delicious chutneys and sambar.
While bidding bye, Sri Murali and his wife Smt Pushpa, the partners offered a piece of Laddu and Mysorepak, which we refused as they are very common everywhere. On tasting, we ordered for 25 pieces since it is so tempting. With their proactive and friendly attitude, the Muralis make the experience worth remembering. Just before getting into our car we were greeted by Sri Aneesh, the partner, with his captivating smile.
This is a place worth its...
Read moreHorrible service. We were 10 people. After getting 2 tables, the waiter was very slow. We asked for 2 Kerala paratha, and they said it will take 10 minutes, same for chapati naan etc. we said we will wait, and we ordered ghee roast, masala dosa and mushroom masala for the 2 parathas.
The nai roast had barely any ghee to warrant the name. Tattukadas have better quality, and these nai roast tasted same as Sada dosa we have in mumbai. Shameful.
We decided to order onion uthapa and 2 more Kerala porrota as planned, but then they started saying that Kerala porrota is over, and the ones served were the last.
This was outrageous that it was already hard to place an order because they were seemingly highly understaffed. And now being told this.
We cancelled the order of additional uthappa and decided to walk out and fill our stomach at some tatukada. Those who atleast got their meals finished it.
We are waiting for the bill for almost 5 minutes. I would have walked out, but I knew a significant money would get cut from the waiters salary just because of the hotels own incompetence.
Just as the waiter approached, they got us the lime juice that the other table ordered at the very beginning.
How horrendously slow can you be, or even say half the menu items are unavailable?
Eat at a tattukada than this place if you see this review beforehand. Much more tastier. And a lot...
