We, coming from Banglore to visit Wayanad, and being No stranger to paying literally thousands of rupees to Dineout in Banglore to have substandard food and service, Wilton was a rather pleasant experience for us.
First things first though: The restaurant is HUGE, but it's so popular that on weekends you will have lines of people waiting outside. But the waiting time was about 10 minutes for us, which was tolerable even in mid afternoon.
Coming to the food, dis some research beforehand and ordered
Kadal Kattu: It's a Sea food meal, every item is a preparation of fish ! The fish was really fresh and mouth watering. Fish chutney, fish aachar, fish sabzi, fish curry, well if you are seafood lover, can't go wrong ! And all of this is an unbelievable price of approx 380 bucks(March,2024) which is just crazy.
Veg Meal: Pretty standard South Indian Veg meal, nothing to complain, nothing to rave about either.
Avoli Mango fish curry: Rich creamy fiahgravy ..yummy !! Although we expected the curry to be tangy due to the "mango" name, there was raw mango slices instead.
Nadaan Seafood soup: The Days special, packed full with black pepper. Flavours of spices, coconuts, a variety of seafood, ginger and pepper in a flavourful clear soup base. Can't complain !
Mozzarella Kunafa: Our first exposure to Kunafa..and boy it made a stellar first impression !! We never used the sweet syrup at all.
It was Super crunchy, creamy, cheesy, very mildly sweet (No syrup remember) Holy Molly..We have fallen for the glorious Kunafa...forever 😅
Lastly, a must mention of the ever vigilant, ever caring and quite amazing service provided by the staff. They are literally managing thousands of people at a time and still manage to be so professional and warm.
Final Verdict: as foodies, We are visiting Wilton every chance we can get, Our experience was a...
Read moreHere is a draft of a review based on the information you provided about your experience at Wilton in Sultan Battery:
During my recent visit to Wilton in Sultan Battery, I had the pleasure of enjoying a remarkable dining experience that left a lasting impression. The food at Wilton was truly exceptional, with some standout dishes that I cannot stop raving about.
The biriyani, prawns, and the unique Pothu Kal (beef/buffalo leg) biriyani were absolute highlights of my meal. The Pothu Kal biriyani, in particular, was cooked to perfection, with tender meat that made for a delightful and memorable dish. Although I missed out on trying the Chatti Choru and the seafood platter due to the lent season, the quality of the dishes I did sample exceeded my expectations.
One dish that stood out was the Kunafa, which I found to be exceptional. In fact, it was so outstanding that it has become the benchmark against which I compare all other Kunafa desserts I have tried. The culinary expertise and attention to detail that went into preparing this dessert were truly commendable.
Beyond the exceptional food, I was also impressed by the overall dining experience at Wilton. The staff members were excellent, providing top-notch service that enhanced the enjoyment of the meal. The restaurant itself was clean, well-maintained, and provided a welcoming ambiance where excellent food is served with care and attention.
In conclusion, Wilton in Sultan Battery exceeded my expectations with its amazing food offerings, exceptional service, and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend a visit to Wilton to experience their culinary delights firsthand.
