Cafe hunters , like me are ready to hunt great cafes in and around city. So, Cafe Offbeat Up There - The Rooftop Bar & Cafe was one of the bucket list destination since long. Don't get me wrong ! I know I'm kind a late to introduce this awesome place but it's doesn't mean that the awesomeness will gone less this time.

🌟Let me talk about the ambience first - This place was an absolute treat to our eyes cause it was way too beautiful. This place was not famous only for the rooftop but the place also known for its pet friendly theme. So, bring your chubby, cutiepie cats and dogs along with you and have fun. The 360° view of town was surely mesmerizing and the view of the sunset was like cherry on top. They have different kind of seating arrangements like they have big cozy sofas , tables , couches for different purposes , dim bulb lights along with some soothing music was enough for relaxing. Cafe offbeat brings everything in a one place like sports people can cheer up their favourite team by watching their favourite sports on a huge projector screen while having some delicious food or else if you are wanted to booze while enjoying the city view. They got you covered as well.

➡️Now coming to the real deal which was food ofcourse -

🔸Bharwan Banarasi Aloo With cheese Olive - Half cut portion grilled Potato stuffed with cheese , olive and other spices. Comes with pudina chutney and onions. I was not expecting that it will be damn lipsmacking.

🔸 Grilled Fish With Kafir Lemon Butter Sauce - This was an absolute delightful to our tastebuds. I still cannot forget that smooth buttery texture of that fish. It was fresh , perfectly cooked and the lemon gives boost touch to it.

We had few other items like pizza , various non alcoholic mocktails too. Hookah is a mandatory thing for a rooftop cafes now a days so that we also go for it and i must say that sisha makes the overall vibes more chilling.

You can't afford to miss this place in this winter if you are staying in kolkata ❤️ overall it was an evening to remember. Last but not the least life isn't perfect but the...

Offbeat CCU is one of the most happening places in Kolkata & truly for a reason. 📌 Location : 36/F, Topsia Rd, Topsia, Kolkata, West Bengal 700039 I have visited two of their ventures , 1. Cafe offbeat CCU which is at the top & 2. The Biryani Canteen which is at the ground floor.

Cafe Offbeat CCU is basically at the rooftop and it's well known for its photogenic ambience, courteous staffs, wide range of menu & others. Let's have a look what are the items I have tried from them.. ✏️ Conjee crispy chicken : This item will you a sweet & chilli flavour, along with crispy sliced & fried chicken pieces . ✏️Crispy chilli babycorn : This needs no explanation, my personal favourite of all the time , small fresh baby corns fried & sauted in the perfect balance of gravy with it. ✏️ Chicken and cheese bite : Crisp chicken bites where the chicken was minced & mixed along with chopped veggies &cheese , must be dipped into Mayo before indulging. ✏️ Grilled fish kaffirlime : This was the showstopper & the reason I am writing it at the end. Vetki fish was grilled perfectly, a flavour of Gondhoraj was already there & personally I loved the gravy served with it , it was melting in mouth.

@Thebiryanicanteen is one of the other hot & happening Indo-western & quirky places with a twist , Situated at the ground floor of Offbeat Guest Ccu . This place serves mainly North Indian dishes(justifying to its ambience) , also this place have a collection of junk & custom jewelleries to shop from jewellery ranges start just from Rs. 150 to upwards. Let's have a look what are the items I have tried from them . ✏️Aloo-E-Atishi : Potato stuffed with cheese and spices , must be diped into mint chutney ✏️Subz Dilruba Seekh kebab : This is basically a crispy beetroot kebab, i liked the taste though. ✏️Murg Rozali Kebab : This is basically chicken reshmi kebab which was really soft & flavourful. ✏️Murgh Lal Surkh Tikka : Soft & succulent Chicken tikka kebab served with coriander chutney & salad. ✏️Mutton Keema Potlaam Biryani : The biryani is having a strong flavour , along with mutton chunks and spice gravy in it.

This is not a hostel. It is a dormitory. You have 8 or 9 rooms in one floor, each with 10 to 18 beds. No common area, no chill out, meet new people, nothing. None of these 8 or 9 rooms have attached bathrooms. There is 1 common washroom area with 2 wash basins, 3 showers and 3 closets. Everyone from the 8 rooms have to use this. The lockers are not in the rooms either. They are all stacked up in one tiny room. If you want something, you need to go to the locker room and get it. They give you the key to the locker though, which is good. Male and Female are 2 different floors. There's no concept of mixed room where men and women stay together. The problem with this is that men tend to become careless/untidy when they know it is only other men in the floor. This also eliminates the chance to make new friends, if you are a solo traveller, by 50%. This is not a place for travellers. Majority of the people staying here are students, etc. who are staying here on a long term basis. For them, this is like a college hostel. The security staff - all the security staff except one - Dilip Sheth - are extremely rude. For no reason, they'll gang up on you and do not even have the patience to listen to what you want to say. If you are one of those travellers who is "working from home", forget this place. There's no place to take calls. While there is a gym, co-working space, etc. in the same building, everything is off limits for us. The cleanliness - even though the house keeping staff clean the entire floor every morning, the washrooms especially gets dirty in no time. Thanks to the only-men configuration they have, the men don't even care to flush and maintain basic hygiene. There are geysers in every bath area, but in all the days I stayed there, I could not get even one of them to actually work. The switch was on, but there was no hot water coming out. The hotel in the ground floor is pretty good. The staff over there is also hospitable. The reception staff are also hospitable. Finally the location - this place is quite out of town - on a bypass road. The bus connectivity to this place is quite limited.
