Rang De Basanti Dhaba - EM Bypass Review
Date of Visit:- 30th September
Rating:- 1.5/5
We visited Rang De Basanti Dhaba on EM Bypass with high expectations, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Here's a breakdown of our visit:
Food Quality:
Malai Kebab: 1/5 - The kebab was cold, and the cream on top seemed like an afterthought. The flavor was bland, and the texture was off-putting. Butter Naan: 2/5 - The naan was okay but seemed prepared a while ago. Butter Chicken: 1/5 - The dish lacked the rich, creamy flavor of traditional butter chicken. Instead, it was spicy and tasted odd. Thumbs up: -/5 - Tastes exactly like how we buy it from shop. Green Salad: 5/5 - Well, surprise! It had onion, tomato, cucumber, green chilli and a bit of chat masala at the top. Bang on!!
Service:
Attentiveness: 1/5 - The staff seemed distracted and unenthusiastic. They served food while chatting with colleagues, giving the impression they were forced to work. Professionalism: 1/5 - Lack of courtesy and attentiveness made the experience unpleasant.
Ambiance:
Overall Ambiance: 2/5 - The decor was vibrant, but the overall experience was marred by poor service and food quality.
Comparison to Previous Experience:
We had a great experience at the Sector V branch a couple of years ago, but the EM Bypass branch failed to impress.
Recommendation:
Based on our experience, we would advise potential customers to skip this branch. The food quality and service need significant improvement.
Overall Experience: 1.5/5
Rang De Basanti Dhaba EM Bypass needs to work on its food quality, service, and overall customer experience to regain...
Read moreI could only think of mosquito, mosquito and more mosquitoes every time I think of the place. Very much disappointed. Last Sunday went there with my family and in laws for lunch. But couldn't stay for more than 10 minutes. The place is badly mosquito infested. Within minutes we got bit by few mosquitoes. Its like having food in open air above a dirty canal. Two mosquito repellents were there but one was switched off. There is a mosquito bat with the supervising waiter who was finding it difficult to find mosquitoes. But still he caught at least 5 in 2 minutes. Still lot was entering everytime the entry door was opening. The waiters tried to explain the fact but why would the owner not invest on something foolproof regarding the issue. Why a customer would spend thousands to get bitten by several mosquitoes? Believe me I have never seen so many mosquitoes even in train stations. Even at a time when Kolkata is experiencing several cases of Chikungunya this type of indifference is really intolerable. I could bet people will be sick coming out of that place. We moved to another eatery nearby with my aged in laws just to get rid of mosquitoes and our decision was absolutely perfect. Constantly fearing mosquito bite and warding those off and having quality time at the same time would have not...
Read moreI recently ordered from Rang De Basanti Dhaba on EM Bypass through Swiggy, and it was a mixed experience. The naan was absolutely delightful – soft, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The dal makhani was another standout, with a creamy texture and rich flavor that truly hit the mark. However, the special flavored kadhai paneer was slightly underwhelming. The paneer was fresh, but the gravy lacked the depth of flavor I was expecting.
On the other hand, the veg fried rice was a pleasant surprise – flavorful, well-seasoned, and not overly greasy. It complemented the other dishes quite well. Overall, the portion sizes were decent for the price, and the food was delivered fresh and hot.
I appreciate the effort to maintain authentic flavors and the quality of ingredients, but I would recommend improving the seasoning in a few dishes, especially the kadhai paneer. This place has potential and could be even better with minor tweaks.
If you’re ordering, I’d recommend trying the dal makhani and naan combo. A solid 4-star experience for me, and I’ll likely order again to try some of their other...
