First thing I want to confess that I'm not a party animal. So my review might seem to be a little bit slanted. But I'll try to be impartial as much as possible.
This place is located near the Maa flyover, topsia, closely adjacent to the Barsana banquet. The decor is definitely nice; the lightings, the stairs, the disco floor and the rooftop sitting arrangements are all well planned and properly maintained. However the restrooms are not easily accessible and a bit ignored. Moreover the lifts are not very spacious.
But, but, the view is awesome!! If you're a lone wolf like me you just need to grab your drink and sit in a corner and just look at the horizon... It's splendid.
The restaurant staffs were very gentle and helping, they arranged everything in a planned manner and that too within a very short span. It's not easy to serve 13 drunk adults and yet not to offend them... They did the impossible and I salute them for their professionalism and skills.
Now the main thing, the food. The starters (crispy chilly babycorn, fish fry, a paneer platter and chilly chicken) were tasty but the quality of the fish was not very good, but they did a wonderful job with the preparation. They served good quality whiskey and again I showed my loyalty towards "teachers". The mocktails were excellent except virgin mohito, I didn't like the taste. The main course was average and I recommend " Kadhai chicken" And the rice. The combo was good. The desert contained chocolate brownies and they were bitter. And this evening costs the hosts a fortune (over a whooping 30k)!
I don't mean to insult the genuine efforts of the hardworking staffs, but yes, taste means everything to a foody like me and they need a lot of improvement there. That's all. I thank them for such a...
Read moreThis place was on my bucket list since the day Zomato had released it's Sneak Peak. The catchy part of the video was their signature dish "Signature Flaming Rosemary Chicken Tikka" . I was totally elated and wanted to have this dish on my table since then. So finally the day came when I visited this place and without even looking into the menu chart I ordered the long anticipated dish. But to my very disappointment there was no gorgeous flame of burning chicken tikka on my plate 🙁 . Instead there was just the tikka stick with a extremely insignificant ignition at the bottom of the tikka which even got extinguished in a matter of seconds. There was no X-factor in taste either. No doubt I was highly disappointed. Maybe the Sneak Peak video had got my expectations too high.
Nevertheless after expressing my disappointment, the staff immediately did compensate it with complementary prawn dish.
Coming to the ambiance, there are two floors. The 9th floor and the rooftop. So initially the staffs escorted us to the 9th floor seating area. No doubt the seating area had a great view of the busy Kolkata and they had an amazing DJ. Also there was live screening of the IPL match. But the bummer in this beautiful ambiance was the ventilation. The area was too suffocating.
But again even this problem was instantly fixed by the staff once complained and they gave us a table in the rooftop lounge.
So overall the experience almost went smooth and the couple of unfortunate events can be put into blind spot, only because of the extremely friendly and hospitable staff who are ever ready to make your visit at the place a delightful and...
Read moreAfter seeing good reviews and rating we went to Level Seven yesterday evening with family and friends for dinner. But unfortunately it failed to live up to the expectation.
Ambiance - The ambiance is not that great, except that it is an open roof top on the seventh floor offering good views of the city. Loud music, dim lights (that too had to be turned off due to insects menace) and ceiling fans diminish the dining experience.
Food - Coming to food it's nothing worth mentioning for the price it is charging - options are also limited. All food prices end with '7' to justify the Level 7 it seems. For example a sizzler with momo, chicken, rice, noodles (picture below, haven't seen this weird combination in sizzler earlier) costs Rs.747 but does not taste anywhere close to sizzlers. The drinks too are also exorbitantly priced (Rs 347 per 30ml of standard scotch).
Service - Service was prompt and fine without any complaints like any other good restaurant but nothing extraordinary.
Parking - They offer valet parking and it was smooth.
Overall I feel the restaurant is highly overpriced for the ambiance, food, drinks it has to offer. If you are willing to spend this much there are far better options in Kolkata providing exquisite cuisines and private dining experience.
The foods that we had were lemon garlic butter prawn, murg tikka, panko fried fish, pizza, chicken momo noodles sizzler, penne alfredo pasta, chilli chicken, drinks and it all costs us (4 adults + 2 kids) ~Rs. 11,000 after 15% discount for paying through Swiggy Dineout (all coupons and credit card offers shown during booking did not work as usual due to...
