Tasteless cake, poor appearance, overly marketed and highly misleading.
Picture 1 is the cake I ordered vs Picture 2 is what I got. Not to mention the fact that I was told I will be given the SAME cake as I ordered, but ah, a disappointment. By the looks of it, I was saddened, but I expected that since the reviews had people raving(dont know how lmaooo), maybe the taste will be otherwise. I specifically asked her not to smudge the color on the sides, not so surprisingly that went unheard too.
That did not happen. It was dry on the inside, flavorless almost and the bottom layer of the cake was burnt. Seems as though they couldnt care less about the order. It was not sweet at all, the frosting was way paste-ey and all in all bad.
You might be thinking this is a 'home bakery' and the charges will be reasonable, let me tell you, theyre not. In Gwalior, chocolate cakes are made at the rate of around 350-380 Rupees/Pound, but this on the other hand cost me 1100, she told me it would be the rate for a two pound cake, but when received, it was barely over one pound. That is some major cost cutting happening here.
The terrible, terrible location of the bakery adds to it. You just CANNOT find it, it is situated in a colony with way too many streets, might as well get lost.
Maybe it is just me who had the worst batch of the whole bakery, maybe it was just my cake that was meant to be ruined. All I want you to do is pick your bakery and more importantly your bakery wisely. Stay safe folks;...
Read moreI recently ordered a custom mango cheesecake from Bakeology, a delightful homegrown bakery in Gwalior, while I was in Canada. Initially, I was skeptical about the quality and delivery, considering I was making the payment from abroad and the communication via WhatsApp was brief and to the point (way too brief for my comfort; Aunty only responds in one or two words lol). However, my bet paid off beautifully!
The cheesecake was made with fresh, in-season mangoes and prepared with the utmost care in a home setting. It was not spiked with processed sugar; instead, it had the natural sweetness of real mangoes. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail were exactly what I was hoping for, something you often miss with commercial bakeries (we all have seen horror videos on social media. I was also in talks with another commercial bakery but he tried to dupe me and quoted a higher price than what was on his website- which was sad) The prices at Bakeology Cakes are great and what you get out of it is way more!
Despite my initial reservations, the cake was absolutely delicious. A big thank you to Bakeology for exceeding my expectations. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone looking for top-notch, homemade cakes. Go for it – you won't be disappointed!
Thank you for the care and great quality cake Aunty! Sincere appreciation...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with Bakeology Bakery. I had placed an order well in advance for my baby’s birthday, trusting them with such an important occasion. Not only did they fail to fulfill my order, but they also completely ruined my baby’s birthday celebration. The staff is shockingly rude—they not only talk nonsense to customers but even speak poorly about their own owner. Despite confirming my order three times (placed two days in advance) and reminding them repeatedly, they did not bother to inform me that they couldn’t fulfill it. I only found out five minutes before the scheduled delivery, and that too after I repeatedly called them. To make matters worse, the owner was “too busy” in some so-called pooja to even apologize for the mess they created. I had to scramble last minute to arrange a cake on my own. And the nightmare didn’t end there—they refuse to refund your money unless you personally visit their hidden shop, which is almost impossible to locate. This bakery shows zero professionalism, zero responsibility, and zero respect for its customers. They are ruining special occasions and looting customers with their careless behavior. I will never recommend Bakeology Bakery to anyone. If your event or celebration matters to you, think twice before trusting them—they simply cannot be...
