First of all, let me clarify about so many Guru Kripa restaurants in Indore.
The one I am reviewing is 'Gurukripa Restaurant'. Just don't come here.
Just beside it is ' Shri Gurukripa',
and the one at South Tukoganj Road is 'Dutt Guru Kripa'. Best one.
I doubt whether all three are same as people say. I even doubt whatever first two are single unit as both are situated beside each other at SARWATE Bus Stand. One of the attendant said that 'Gurukripa' is for family and' Shri Guru kripa ' is general restaurant.
Though menu card at' Gurukripa' had ' Shri Gurukripa' written on it.

Now let me give you honest review.
Few months ago I had dinner at 'DUTT GURUKRIPA' at South Tukoganj with my friends.
And let me tell you, it matched all the hype that we hear about Gurukripa. Awesome taste, nice service, half hour waiting time and so on.
Quite fascinated with this, this time I came with me parents and thought to have a go with them. As we were at Sarawate, we decided to visit the one that was there. As there were two, just side by, we were told, on enquiring, to go to ' Gurukripa' stating it was for family.
I was very excited to have same go again with my parents as I insisted them to have lunch at Guru kripa.
But what a shit experience it was. The food taste was not even comparable to local thela. We somehow ate what we ordered and couldn't dare to order other item, after that. Malai kofta was more of a like mesh potato, no salt, no spices. No masala in mushroom masala. Overall pathetic experience.
After coming out all I wished was to review this as soon as possible to save someone from this horrible experience.
Pls go through pics to differentiate.
Just go at South Tukoganj. You won't regret. Though be careful about...
Read moreOn the menu, dishes like vegetable biryani, Calcutta roll (paneer-stuffed and generously sauced), veg lollipop, paneer butter masala, and khichdi are highly recommended by regulars . Many reviews highlight the biryani as flavorful, though occasionally the rice might be slightly undercooked . The same applies to others who mention the Calcutta roll and veg starters as crowd favorites .
Service is brisk and efficient, especially during peak lunch or dinner hours. Staff may seem impersonal at times, but orders arrive quickly—often within 30 minutes . Ambiance is simple and functional: basic seating spread across multiple connected areas, with occasional sharing tables due to crowd density . Cleanliness receives mixed feedback—while many find it acceptable for a busy local spot, some recent reviews mention lapses in hygiene and rude staff behavior .
On Reddit, local diners discuss varied perceptions: one comments, “Gurukripa is not the best but reliable family restaurant” and that its popularity stems from affordability rather than...
