People have recommended me left and right, to try out their non-veg food. As this place was quite far away from my place( there's about 10 km difference from new Bhopal to old Bhopal) I called over some friends and went there.
As I closed in on the place, a delicious whiff of Korma greeted me. No kidding, it actually dominated the street which belongs majorly to auto repair shops. The restaurant is properly planned, away from the main Street, provided parking for about 15 four wheelers. The outside is done nicely, with a contemporary touch. Interior was nice, with magenta and cream being the colour schemes followed with the seating and floors as well. The walls had paintings and overall it was a nice place. Only setback was they don't have proper air conditioning, only fans. But even at 43° outside, we didn't feel uncomfortable.
I became a fan of their menu. Not only the dishes they were offering looked nice, but the designing of the menu was beautiful too.
The hygiene was maintained properly, the kitchen staff was working with shower caps and aprons, something which made me feel good. The waiting staff was wearing magenta coloured shirts and jeans, again matching with the theme.
We ordered for a Non veg Thali. This Thali was to the core non-veg, with no veggie items. (Please click on the pictures to know about the reviews on food). The only thing I didn't like about the thali was that it was imbalanced. With 3 Chicken items and only 1 mutton item, I think it would've been nice if they would've provided an option in the starters.
The food was excellent. The best I've ever had till date. People say Hakeem is the best. I refuse now, Khan Sahab triumphs over Hakeem's any day. The price was exact, NO TAXES.
Only thing that disappointed me was at the end, when the owner/ manager too a seat next to ours(peeche side) and blazed up a cigarette. Quite a turn off. Also, please avoid going on dates here ( because of the cheap prices, a mix bag of Gentry) though this is an excellent treat spot as well as for Families.
Highly recommended, visit...
Read moreReturning back from a trip to the Upper Lake, a couple of us friends decided, let's give Khan Sahab a visit, as it was fabled amongst the folks of Reddit / on Instagram. We sat on a table which was supposed to accommodate a family of 6, the seating was awkward and quiet, but as we were hungry, we sat down nonetheless. The ambience was gloomy for some reason on the day of our visit.
First thing first: the service was slow and unconcerned for the most part. We got a single menu for amongst 4 people. So, we took turns reading and deciding what to order and what not to. Settled on Chicken Curry, Rumali Rotis, Garlic Naan, Boneless Fish Tikka and Chicken Biryani. Placed the orders. Put on our waiting caps.... And waited for almost a good 1 hour before we were greeted with cold (legit refrigerated) Rumali Rotis and warm curry. Asked the waiting personnel to switch the Rotis, took him about 20 minutes to bring em back. The people of a certain ethnic group was given priority while being served, whereas we sat for almost hours (⏳s) before getting out stuff on the table. IN SHORT: service was VERY POOR and UNCONCERNED.
Coming to the taste: garlic naan had very little hints of garlic even after especially mentioning the instructions to ramp up the garlic, the Chicken curry (it was Chicken Tikka Masala I guess) was bland, we adjusted the seasoning in order to savour it with the Rumali Rotis, the Biryani had rice grains which were properly cooked and had that Awadhi taste to it, the fish was thoroughly cooked and juicy, but I personally feel as if fish does not require an exorbitant amount of preparation done to taste good.
Overall, I enjoyed the Fish Tikka here. Will visit again to devour some Chicken Tikka / items of the grill. Would honestly steer clear of the main course. But your mileage may...
Read moreKhan Sahab offers a remarkable dining experience that stands out in Bhopal. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, setting the stage for a memorable meal. Known for its authentic Mughlai and North Indian flavors, the restaurant excels in quality and taste.
Food: The dishes are truly the star of the experience here. Signature items like the kebabs and biryani are packed with rich flavors, and each bite speaks of authenticity. The mutton seekh kebabs are perfectly spiced, and the butter chicken is a favorite for its creamy, well-balanced sauce. They also have some delicious vegetarian options, like paneer tikka and dal makhani, which are equally satisfying.
Hospitality: The staff at Khan Sahab are attentive and courteous, enhancing the overall dining experience. From the moment you enter, they ensure you feel valued and well-cared for. The waitstaff is knowledgeable about the menu, which is helpful when deciding between so many tempting options. Service is efficient, and food is served promptly, which is much appreciated.
Overall: Khan Sahab is a must-visit for anyone in Bhopal craving authentic Mughlai flavors paired with excellent service. It’s a place that truly celebrates the richness of Indian cuisine and makes you feel...
