Mantar Restaurant in Rohit Nagar, Bhopal, is a popular dining spot that offers a unique blend of ambiance, flavors, and service. Here's a detailed review:

Ambiance

The restaurant boasts a nature-inspired tropical theme, reminiscent of Bangalore airport or Bali, with bamboo and wood furnishings that create a warm and cozy atmosphere. The decor is contemporary and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for casual meals or special occasions.

Food

The menu offers a diverse range of dishes, including Chinese, Asian fusion, and North Indian cuisine. Some popular items include ¹ ²: Malai Tikka: A creamy, flavorful dish that's a must-try Chicken Strogonoff: A delicious, melt-in-your-mouth experience Paneer Tikka: A nicely cooked, flavorful dish Butter Chicken: A rich, creamy tomato-based dish

However, some reviewers have reported inconsistent food quality, with issues like no salt in dishes or over-fried koftas.

Service

The service at Mantar Restaurant has received mixed reviews. While some reviewers have praised the courteous staff, others have reported slow service, particularly during peak hours. In some cases, the staff has struggled to handle crowds and multiple orders, leading to disappointing experiences.

Pricing

The price range at Mantar Restaurant is average, with most dishes priced reasonably. The cost per person is around INR 300-400 making it an affordable option for students and young people.

Overall Experience

Mantar Restaurant is good in ambiance, food, and service. However, some reviewers have reported inconsistent experiences, highlighting the need for improvement in service and food quality.

Tips for Visitors

Visit during weekdays for a quieter dining experience Make reservations in advance, especially during peak hours Try popular dishes like Malai Tikka and Chicken Strogonoff Be patient with the service, as it can be slow during peak hours

In conclusion, Mantar Restaurant is a great option for those looking for a pleasant dining experience with good food and ambiance. However, it's essential to be aware of the potential inconsistencies in service and food quality. With some improvements, this restaurant could become a top-rated...

We saw Mantar on our way to home a couple of months back & ever since we were planning on visiting. Finally it happened last night.

Parking is super tight. We did get a spot easily though. We were warmly greeted by the staff & seated immediately. It took a lot of time & requests to get a server to get our order,it would have made sense if the place was packed but at this point only two other tables were occupied. We were completely unattended & ignored for the next few minutes & finally when the server arrived his first request was our phone number! That was infuriating. We ordered two starters & a drink. While the paneer tikka was decent, I absolutely loved the Mezze Beiruty, (the Hummus Platter). The dips were delicious, the baked Pita was the size of the nacho. The price & portion size didn't seem compatible. My comment was heard by the Operations Manager-Raj & he asked for our feedback & got us some additional Pita bread, I think that was really sweet & a thoughtful gesture on his part. We asked for the cheque right away & voilà the cheque was immediately served unlike the food! The guard in the parking lot was hovering over the window expecting a tip & his efforts paid off. You would think that he would do a basic task of helping you reverse in the middle of a heavy traffic road, correctly but you'd be surprised. We would have banged the other vehicle pretty hard which he missed while asking us to back up but clearly we didn't. Don't go if you're expecting prompt service, but if you have time & lots of patience maybe drop by for that...

Extremely Bad; service is very poor to say the least; every staff in the restaurant feels he is the manager/ boss-too many supervisors but no worker: lack of coordination among them. There should be only one floor manager to coordinate the service. The sequencing of service was not planned properly - dishes were placed first alongwith bread basket without bothering to provide us the plates to serve food. Order for bread basket was messed up- the server instead of accepting the mistake argued much and by the time he brought replacement we had finished our dinner with whatever was on table. As if it wasn’t enough there was a stone in the “ Pindi Chole” which was shown to Mr Raju Jaiswal who was serving us. Most agonising was the fact that none of the staff member seemed to be apologetic or concerned about poor service and the stone found in the vegetable.

I had been to the restaurant about 6-7 months back and based on our satisfactory experience had chosen Mantar for a family dinner today but now will think twice to suggest someone to visit the restaurant on weekends as the staff is not properly trained to handle customers during rush hours. Suggest owners to put more- and experienced- staff specially during weekends if they wish to establish this restaurant in long run as the ambiance and food quality is definitely good but the poor service and behaviour &.conduct of staff (who now appear to be complacent )...

**Disappointing Experience** Our dining experience was completely ruined due to poor service and mismanagement. We ordered Subz Kofta Curry, but both the Kofta and Curry had no salt at all. By the time we realized, three out of the four Koftas were already served on separate plates. We asked the staff to take the plates back and fix the issue. They returned after adding salt, but only one Kofta was brought back—and it still had no taste! We complained again, and after some time, they apologized and brought a fresh Subz Kofta Curry. To our shock, the new dish was even worse. The gravy was too watery, the color was different, and the Koftas were over-fried. When we spoke to Mr. Mahendra about this, he claimed that the new dish was the “authentic” Subz Kofta Curry and that the first one had been made incorrectly. We were shocked to hear this. If they knew the first dish was wrong, why didn’t they fix it properly in the first place? He had no proper answer, and no one even apologized sincerely or tried to manage the situation better. The entire experience was very disappointing. A restaurant should always make an effort to correct their mistakes and ensure that customers leave happy. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not care to do that. We left very disappointed.

Mantar is a decent place to visit with family. I went here for a dinner with my family. We got 'Dahi ke Sholay', Peri Peri Fries, and Bruschetta for starters. Bruschetta was really good, the rest were decent enough. We had some Paneer, Malai Kofta and Dal Fry in the main course, all of which were good enough too. The food was consistently decent, but there was no stand out dish. I'd have given the place 4 stars, but they really need to train their waiters. One of the waiters, while serving me dal, dipped his finger in the bowl to pull it towards him. A small thing, but really annoying and unprofessional, which I did not expect in a place like this. Update: On my second visit today (11 December), I was impressed by the food. Dal bukhara was really good, paneer lababdar tasted great. Even the staff was more professional. The only thing holding me back from a 5 star review is their breads. The lachha paratha came in burnt the first time, and when we asked to replace it, the second time it was fine from outside but a little raw from inside. Maybe their tandoor was a little too hot
