Hotel Kokan Kolhapuri — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Some places effortlessly get the grace to satisfy their customers, Hotel Konkan Kolhapuri, near Thermax Chowk is one of them. A small and cozy place with just the basic seating arrangement. Please note, you just get to sit there to enjoy the meal. No glittering ambiance or flying curtains, just a few tables and benches. We ordered chicken Thali which was on our table within minutes. Bhakri Options- Jowar, Bajra, Rice. We opted for the Bajra. As you see in the pics, we got Chicken Sukka, Chicken Gravy, Tambda Rassa, Pandhra Rassa, Solkadi, egg curry and a bowl of rice. I sipped the Tambda Rassa and wow was the first reaction. Not too spicy, a bit of smoky flavor and the blend of unique masalas had already made it rich. Same went on with the Pandhra Rassa, soothing and flavorful it was. Next was the Solkadi, dark and strong.. The Chicken Sukka and Chicken Rassa were prepared in different masalas, both the dishes were impressive. Meat was tender and well cooked. Each item in the thali had its own unique flavor. It was a flawless experience.

This thali would definitely beat any other thali in terms of taste and quality. One Ltr Water Bottle - Rs 10 Only. Chicken Thali- Rs 310/- Total Bill for two with 4 bottle of Maza - Rs 710.

Will I visit...

Loved it. This place was recommended to me on one of my Quora answer's comments. It's a small outlet so I missed to see it whenever I was around this area. This is the reason I visited it much later than I had originally planned.

The first thing I liked about the food is its authentic feel. The macchhi thali feels like straight from Konkan. Taste is superb. I have tried their Surmai thali, prawns biryani and chicken thali. I would highly recommend their Macchi thali.

Along with refreshing unlimited tambda-pandhra rassa they serve macchi kalvan in the thali which is a surprise. It is amazing. Chapati and Bhakri in the thali are so good that it feels like home made.

Dish rates are quite reasonable considering the quantity, the taste and the hygiene. It's not a big place. So you will have to wait to get a place in case you are going there in peak hours. So I would recommend to go early lunch and dinner hours to peacefully enjoy the dishes. I hope they maintain their superb...

Hotel located in thermax chowk , this hotel is famous for kokani and kolhapuri cuisines . I had never tried this combination before i tried kolhapuri tambada pandhara rassa and malvani curry with solkadhi and all but here you get perfect combination of both delicacies . Other options are available here but you should try thali whether it us fish thali , chicken thali , mutton thali or prawns thali . Tried prawns thali and veg thali . I didn't quite like veg thali but prawns thali is awsome best one of the best prawns i ever had . You will get bhakari or chapati option . Ambience is not that good there is lot of scope for improvement . Taste is best for sea food and non veg loveers. Prawns thali cost around 370 all thalis are in the same range...
