Ah, Hotel Indrayani—a place so exceptional, it should consider closing its doors just to save itself from further embarrassment. Seriously, if there were an award for the most gloriously awful dining experience, this place would win hands down.
Picture this: I’m actually writing this review while still waiting for my food. That’s right—I’ve had enough time to reflect on life, compose a novel, and consider starting a new career, all while waiting for my meal to arrive. We ordered the “chef’s special,” but I think the chef must’ve gone on a soul-searching journey to remember how to cook it. After a brisk 20-minute wait, we were graced with its presence. I can only assume the chef had to consult ancient cookbooks or perhaps forage for ingredients in the Himalayas.
Not to be deterred, we then ordered some rotis, because, you know, we were feeling adventurous. After waiting a casual 15 minutes, our server—bless his heart—came back to ask us what type of rotis we ordered. It’s as if he thought we were playing some sort of culinary charades. Clearly, he forgot to pass the order to the kitchen, probably because he was too busy perfecting the art of not giving a damn.
As for water, well, let’s just say I’m now a seasoned expert in the art of hydration through meditation. After a solid 10 minutes of watching the air around us grow more humid, we finally received our water. By then, I was starting to wonder if they were sourcing it from a distant spring, perhaps blessed by monks.
I arrived at this fine establishment for lunch, but ended up dining at what I can only assume was their late-night supper service. Yes, the food took so long that it seamlessly transitioned from lunchtime hunger to dinnertime desperation. If you’re planning to eat here, might I suggest you order your meal a day in advance? Perhaps by carrier pigeon, as it might speed things up.
And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance—my masala taak, which is apparently still wandering the cosmos, searching for a portal to our table. Perhaps it’s shy, or maybe it’s being aged like a fine wine. Either way, I have yet to see it.
Honestly, this place should be closed just to spare itself further embarrassment. Hotel Indrayani isn’t just a dining experience—it’s a test of endurance, patience, and your willingness to ignore every red flag. If you’re into extreme dining challenges, this is the...

Read moreThe ambience is superb. Super pissed with the staff and service. We took a wrong route to Pune from our Mumbai trip hence this was an important halt as we all were super hungry. I forgot to click food pics but can surely explain the whole scenario so people can judge this place accordingly. Ordered Onion Uttapam, Special Uttapam, Cheese Masala Dosa and Pav Bhaaji. The waiter served masala dosa from one end(the chutney and sambhar was alrdy on the dosa) and the Sambhar chutney bowl spilled more over the dosa and this made me feel yucky, I mean presentation is the first thing which can impress a non-foodie. I asked him to serve it properly to the person instead of passing it like a game.
The Onion Uttapam and Special Uttapam had no difference. I had asked them if it had tutti fruity and dry fruits and he said yes to this. The Special Uttapam made no difference and was equally similar to the normal Onion Uttapam. The grated cheese is usually nicely spread on the Uttapam and after it melts on hot Uttapam dry fruits are added. This one had hardly any cheese and the dry fruits made no sense as it wasn't tasting good. All 3 South Indian dishes had excess salt and we cudnt wait to change it as we all were super hungry 😑😔.
Spoke to the waiter and he said nothing has excess salt we asked him to go in the kitchen and check. He came and we saw him discussing with other waiters of what excuse has to be given and told us nothing has excess salt and we can change if required. We were like we've had half food now it's of no use that's fine. No apology nothing instead they kept staring at us and gossiping...
