Authentic Marathwada Flavors with Room for Improvement – 4 Stars
During my recent visit to Hotel Marathwada Biryani House in Balewadi, I was eager to experience authentic Marathwada cuisine, and the restaurant largely delivered on that promise.
Food & Taste: The Mutton Thali stood out with its rich, flavorful gravies and tender meat, reminiscent of traditional Marathwada cooking. The use of kala masala added depth, and the bhakri complemented the dishes well. The Chicken Biryani, prepared with sajuk ghee, had a delightful aroma and taste, though some might find it slightly oily.
Ambience & Service: The restaurant offers a cozy, family-friendly environment with traditional seating options like khatiyas, enhancing the dining experience. Service was prompt, and the staff was courteous, ensuring a pleasant visit.
Areas for Improvement: While the food was commendable, consistency can be an issue. Some patrons have noted variability in taste and preparation, especially during peak hours. Additionally, the restaurant’s location, though accessible, might be easy to miss without clear signage.
Overall: Hotel Marathwada Biryani House offers a genuine taste of Marathwada cuisine in Pune. With a few tweaks in consistency and visibility, it has the potential to become a go-to spot for regional...
Read moreWent there for Saturday lunch. The only plus point why we went there was goat meat ( bokad and not bolhai) ambience was good. Coming to food,we tried Mutton thali. it was extremely spicy and pungent. I personally don't prefer to eat spicy. I could bearly finish half of the rassa given in the first serving. Alni soup quantity was very less and they had added water to increase quantity. Lateron when we asked for seperate mutton alni ( chargeable) we were told that they are making it and it will take atleast 20-25 mins to be ready which confirms the first part😄 One thing to appreciate is mutton was well cooked. Overall I felt it to be too expensive for the quantity and quality. 430 for mutton thali in which you get about 5 pcs in mutton rassa, small wati of alni and kheema. Rassa was extremely spicy so hardly I could eat anything. No option of jowar bhakri. Only bajari bhakri or chapati is available. जर तिखट जाळ जेवण आवडत असेल तर जरूर जा..😄
Ample Parking available.. decent interiors with painting but the basic structure of industrial shed...

Overall ok can visit once. I think biryani is too pricy seeing the quantity and chicken pieces. Need to focus more on competetive pricing and taste of mutton and chicken gravy.
Must try...
