Purohit Veg Restaurant in Panchgani has long enjoyed a solid reputation for its quality food and warm service. With that in mind, we decided to visit the place around 10 PM during our recent trip, trusting the legacy they’ve built over the years.

Being an off-season period in March, the restaurant wasn’t crowded—just a couple of customers apart from us. However, what was disappointing was the noticeable shift in the overall experience. The staff appeared to be in a hurry to wrap up for the day, which reflected clearly in their behavior. While they did take our order, there was a continuous push from their end to quickly place additional orders as they were getting ready to shut. It felt rushed and far from the relaxed dining experience we had hoped for.

Unfortunately, the veggie dish we ordered turned out to be a letdown—it seemed hastily prepared, lacking flavor and effort, almost as if it was made just for the sake of completing the order.

Considering the goodwill and name that Purohit has built over time, this kind of experience was disheartening. I sincerely urge the management to take note of such instances. A great reputation takes years to build but can be affected quickly by inconsistent service or...

The ambiance is warm and inviting, adding to the overall charm of the place. I've tried various dishes here, but a few stand out and are my absolute favorites. The Veg Manchurian Dry bursts with flavor, the Pav bhaji is a delightful surprise, and the Purohits Special Chai is an indulgence worth every sip❤️

I personally would say by far one of the best "pure veg" restaurants in Panchgani, we had many dishes like Paneer chilly, Fried rice , manchow soup in Chinese which was delicious 😋, we had the best Cheese Onion aloo Paratha which was mouth watering and so amazing we ordered another, we also had Mysore masala dosa which was again amazing, we also had Cheese chilli grilled sandwich which had chillies instead of capsicum which we usually get in such sandwiches but still it tasted amazing, the only dish which could have been better was the gravy in paneer masala which was tangy and sweet otherwise could have given the 5 star rating.
