During our recent visit to Alibaug, we had the pleasure of dining at Sumangal Family Restaurant, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The restaurant has a simple yet inviting ambiance, perfect for a laid-back meal with family or friends. It’s clean, well-maintained, and comfortably spaced out, which we appreciated.

We ordered the seafood thali based on local recommendations, and it did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, served alongside sol kadhi, rice, bhakri, and a deliciously spiced curry. Every item on the plate had a homemade touch, and the portions were generous enough to leave us fully satisfied.

The service was friendly and efficient. The staff was attentive, patient, and helpful in guiding us through the menu, especially since we were not too familiar with all the local dishes. They made sure we were comfortable and even customized a few things for our taste preferences.

Pricing is reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of food served. While it may not be a fancy or upscale place, Sumangal delivers on taste, authenticity, and value for money. It’s an ideal stop if you want to experience local coastal cuisine without burning a hole in your pocket.

-Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant as the food was absolutely terrible. The dishes lacked any discernible flavor, and some of them were downright unpleasant. It's hard to believe that a restaurant could get things so wrong.

-My dining companions and I were disappointed from the very start of the meal. We tried Paneer Sabji and Naan but the Paneer had excess water intead of gravy. Even the most basic dish seemed to be lacking in flavor.

-To make matters worse, the service was lackluster as well. Our server was uninterested in our needs and seemed to be rushing us out the door as quickly as possible. The waiter was very rude and he was working like a person who's on notice period. ROFL

-Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was pathetic, the service was poor, and the entire experience was a waste of time and money. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that offer much better food and service, so do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Most ghatiya place in Maharashtra alibaug ...here people have earn so much that they don't respect New customers ...its costly then goa ..hotels rate at Friday to Sundays are more then 3k per room non A/c ...moreover very dirty place in alibaug ...Rental services of bike and car are been stopped by local auto people...as they think auto only work in alibaug not self drive ...nothing is available to enjoy in alibaug only 2 beaches are their that too very dirty like no one can enjoy without money ....I will recommend middle-class people and upper class people to not waste time in alibaug ...rather than this go to matheran or mahabaleshwar its pleasant weather .....in a very short time I left alibaug and took bus to panvel ... Summery - Nothing is available in alibaug just some people have name this place but in 2023 November it is time wasting visit . If you like to stay in hotel only then you can have only one option resort . 4 star and 5 star hotels services are very bad...
