I wish I could give MINUS 5. I cannot even believe that this restaurant has got anything higher than 1 from others - maybe they were lucky or maybe I was unlucky!
I was very excited to go to this restaurant because I have been craving to find a similar American Diner in Mumbai as in my trips to the US, I swear by them.
There was no one in the restaurant. I brushed it away as it was a weekday and Lavassa was generally very quiet that day plus it's not a cuisine that many would fancy in Lavassa (non-metro).
I wanted a Bloody Mary, the waiter says Sir Usse Accha Kuch Aur Le Lo. I said I feel like Bloody Mary, I want Bloody Mary! What is Usse Accha Ya Bura? He comes back, Sir we don't have Tomato Juice! We laughed it off.
I told him to make me a Gimlet- he says Sir Dekhta Huun. Comes back Sir Last Hai, Ek hi Banega. Aap Ke Liye Ek Bana Dunga. Fir Dusra Kuch Aur Lena Padega.
I said OK get me a beer only. They didn't have any variety in Beer (Budweiser Magnum or International variety). But after another 10 rounds of back and forth, I settled for some beer.
We are on holiday, so we didn't raise our voice even once. We just laughed about the episode.
Then the food. That went through another exhausting round where he said they didn't have certain vegetable, or HE didn't think that a certain dish would taste nice!
So finally we order our omelettes & ask him to recommend something in Veg -he says Pot Pie - it comes with so and so, it is very good. I say OK Yes. He goes and comes back in a minute Sir - are you sure you want this- this is going to come with stewed vegetables!
We left. We laughed at the whole episode, never once raised our voice.
I have never seen a worse place! Big dent in the reputation of The All American Diner! It...
Read moreWe walked in recently on Sunday 13th August 2017. we went to lavasa for morning breakfast. we googled few places to eat and we found this hotel. we entered the hotel ,the ambience ensured that we shall have good time here looking at the buffet . we were 8 of us ,the first disappointment was looking at the buffet we were making our minds to have our breakfast here then there the manager walked in said we are closing the buffet....we felt sad we missed it coz of the time may be. however Manager said you can order anything from the menu Ala cart. we sat there for 15 mins deciding our menu .waiter walks in asks us for the order we gave the orders he said the food you guys are ordering are not available at this time . This was sheer disappointment on the part of the manager and staff of the hotel not guiding the customers properly ..we were surprised to see the ratings of the hotel looking after such sad service . we also complained and wanted to write a feedback then suddenly manager says yes you will get whatever you order from the menu which was again a lame thing. firstly you not at all welcoming your guest properly and then misguiding the customers ...we couldn't taste the food coz the service was so lame...disappointing ...its very hard to trust these google reviews and ratings......After going through all the reviews here ..yes its a paid review i could see all the local guides reviewing about it.....how...
Read moreVisited The All American Diner in Lavasa recently and had an enjoyable experience overall. Here's a breakdown:
What I Loved: Classic Ambience: The retro American diner decor is both nostalgic and charming, vinyl seats, diner-style counter, and vintage posters. Friendly Staff: Very welcoming and pleasant, making you feel at ease even when you’re the only guests. Tasty Comfort Food: Tried the burger and milkshake combo which was good.
Areas for Improvement: Limited Menu: The food selection is fairly basic, think burgers, fries, shakes. No variety for groups seeking a broader meal experience. Service Pace: With fewer customers, service was a bit slower than expected but it wasn’t a dealbreaker.
Lack of Crowd: The diner was nearly empty during my visit. While it makes for a peaceful meal, it can feel a bit too quiet or underused.
Summary: If you’re craving classic American comfort food in a retro setting, The All American Diner is a delightful stop. Just don’t expect a bustling atmosphere or a wide-ranging menu. Still, the friendly staff, tasty staples, and peaceful vibe make it worth the visit when in Lavasa.
Best for solo diners, nostalgic couples, or families looking for a calm, relaxed meal. Keep in mind: Don’t visit expecting a lively crowd or menu variety but do come if you’re in the mood for casual...
