During my recent visit to Panchgani, I had the pleasure of dining at Ustadi Restaurant, and I must say it was a truly memorable experience. This hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the town offers a delightful array of dishes that will leave any food lover satisfied.
One dish that absolutely stole the show was the Ghee Roast Chicken Tikka. The succulent pieces of chicken were marinated to perfection, infused with aromatic spices, and cooked in rich ghee. The result was a mouthwatering blend of flavors that left me craving for more. It's a must-try for anyone looking to savor the authentic flavors of Indian cuisine.
Another standout dish was the Crispy Spinach Chicken. This unique combination of crispy chicken and sautéed spinach was a delightful surprise. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, while the spinach added a fresh and vibrant element to the dish. It was a harmonious marriage of textures and flavors that left a lasting impression.
To start my meal, I opted for the Creamy Mushroom Soup, and it was a true comfort in a bowl. The velvety texture, combined with the earthy flavors of mushrooms, made it a perfect choice for a chilly evening. Each spoonful was a burst of warmth and richness, making it an ideal appetizer to set the tone for the rest of the meal.
The restaurant itself had a cozy and inviting ambiance, with warm lighting and comfortable seating. The staff was attentive and friendly, providing excellent service throughout the dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were more than happy to offer recommendations based on personal preferences.
In terms of pricing, the dishes were reasonably priced considering the quality and portion sizes. The generous servings ensured that even the heartiest of appetites would be satisfied without breaking the bank.
Overall, Ustadi Restaurant in Panchgani is a true culinary gem. Whether you're a local or a visitor to the area, I highly recommend paying a visit. The Ghee Roast Chicken Tikka, Crispy Spinach Chicken, and Creamy Mushroom Soup are just a few examples of the delectable offerings on their menu. Prepare to embark on a gastronomic journey that will leave you...
Read moreThe restaurant is well designed and decorated. I really liked the antique musical instruments, cameras, camcorders, radios and transistors hung on a wall. There is a small play area for kids too. Tables are well placed and wit enough distance. The staff was polite and well dressed but they need to be trained in making less cutlery noise and be more efficient. We ordered chicken manchow and veg manchow soups. For starters we ordered Paneer Malai Tikka, Masala Papad, Mutton seek Kabab and a chicken kabab. In main course we ordered roti and naan bread chicken gravy and veg mutter and paneer.
For food taste I would give a 3.5 out of 5.
I would give one recommendation to the restaurant and that would be they must increase vegitarian options. From all the vegitarian dishes mentioned in the menu including starters all had paneer. There was no other vegitarian starter than paneer. It becomes a problem for vegetarian people with dairy intolerance. We paid a total bill of rs. 3400 for 6 people. The mukhwas given after dinner was also good.
Overall I would rate the restaurant a 3 out of 5. I would love to visit the restaurant once again when in Panchgani. Review from one year later as on Feb 2023. There were 2 small cockroaches running on my table and the...
Read moreI don't know why google reviews and ratings are so high for this restaurant, whereas the reality is very different.
We visited for lunch and had a mixed feeling about everything there.
Service: very poor service. We had to ask for the menu and napkins thrice, even though there was no rush. They couldn't even explain some of the dishes that were part of the menu.
Ambience: the place was hot. On asking to have a look at the temperature settings of the ac, they said Ac is running and then just left.
Food : Average food. We had Paneer tikka and Yakhni pulao. Panner was ok, but the Yakhni pulao, even though it tasted ok, did not seem like a Yakhni pulao. It seemed more like a jeera and pudina fried rice.
Parking is a nightmare here. You have to park on the road and if you are lucky, you would have to park 200-300 mts away, else a lot more further depending on the traffic.
Please note, I was expecting a lot based on the other reviews published here, but was taken aback by the actual experience. If you have to spend your time and money, I suggest driving towards Mahabaleshwar, rather than try your luck...
