We’ve been regular patrons of Yolkshire at Pimple Saudagar for quite some time now and have always appreciated the unique egg-centric menu and the premium feel the place offers. However, our recent visit was far from what we’ve come to expect. This review is not to complain but rather to highlight some concerning lapses in the hope that they are taken seriously and addressed.
First off, we understand that prices have recently gone up — and that’s perfectly acceptable given the current inflationary trends. Yolkshire has always positioned itself as a premium egg-specialty restaurant, and with a price hike, expectations naturally rise in terms of quality and consistency. Unfortunately, this visit felt like a step in the opposite direction: higher prices but noticeably lower quality.
Turkish Eggs
One of the main reasons we return to Yolkshire is for dishes like the Turkish Eggs — especially for the perfectly poached eggs that are hard to replicate at home. Sadly, what we received were cooked eggs instead of poached. The joy of breaking into a soft poached egg and watching the yolk ooze was completely missing. This not only altered the texture but took away from the entire experience. (Photo attached.)
Parsi Akuri
This was honestly the biggest disappointment. The dish was excessively salty — to the point where it was simply inedible. We’re not sure what went wrong in the kitchen, but it felt like an oversight that shouldn’t happen at an established outlet like this. To their credit, the staff did acknowledge the issue and kindly removed it from the bill, but that doesn’t excuse the lapse in quality. Moreover, the portion size was shockingly small — it felt like it was made from a single egg, which is nowhere close to a satisfying serving. For the price, this portioning needs serious reconsideration.
Watermelon Iced Tea
This was one of the few items that we enjoyed. It was refreshing and well-blended, though slightly on the sweeter side. Possibly due to the syrup used — this might be worth tweaking slightly for better balance, but overall not a major issue.
Masala Chai
The chai was tasty and satisfying in terms of flavor — very milky and comforting. However, the timing of service was off. We had specifically requested it to be served with or after the food, but it was brought in first. Having to drink tea on an empty stomach was not ideal, especially when we had to wait for the food afterward.

Final Thoughts:
Yolkshire has always been a reliable place for quality egg-based meals and a unique café experience, but this visit raised some red flags. With premium pricing comes the expectation of consistent, if not improved, quality — not a decline. While the staff was polite and responsive, the kitchen really needs to revisit execution and portioning.
We’re sharing this feedback with the hope that it is taken constructively, and improvements are made. We genuinely want to continue coming back — but only if the standards that originally made Yolkshire special are upheld.

Read moreI visited this chain diner on 14th June 2024. It's an all day breakfast and Diner. This place does not just offer multifarious tasty egg dishes but a fulfilling egg experience.I would say this place is "Eggstraordinary" like other Yolkshire outlets! *Place & Ambience (5/5): Set-up is cozy. Minimal decor on egg themed aesthetics. Seems more appropriate, looking at the vast array of egg delicacies. Inside and open sitting arrangements which are comfortable, are available. Place is clean and tidy. Enough parking on the street, easy to locate.
*Food(4/5): Menu is extensive. Vast array of egg delicacies, many breakfast fixes to choose from. They offer Daily egg staples, plenty of omelettes, scrambled eggs, breakfast fixes that too in Italian, Indian, classic English, styles too. But definitely not limited to Pancakes, Croissants, sandwiches, donuts, Pasta bowls, rice bowls, Kolkata style rolls, salads, cold and hot beverages, desserts etc. and of course they serve equally delicious vegetarian spread in their menu.
I had ordered Classic Bacon & Eggs, Chicken Avalanche Croissant, Chicken Mayo Sandwich, and Mocha Frappe.
Bacon & Eggs (5/5): This classic dish was served with egg preparation of your choice, Bacon, Baked Beans, Chicken Sausages, Tossed Potato and Toasted wheat bread. I preferred the omelette. Best thing is that folks at Yolkshire, know how to fry the bacon strips. Rest of the items were also very good.
Chicken Avalanche Croissant (5/5): The croissant was very well baked, flaky and crunchy yet soft and well baked. The stuffing was also lip smacking.
Chicken Mayo Sandwich (3/5) : Only thing Okay Okay was this sandwich. The chicken was a bit over-seasoned. If it was a little bit less salty then I would have loved it.
Mocha Frappe (4/5): This creamy, frothy cold beverage was good. One less star because of a more sweeter taste. For sweet tooths, this is yummy. You will love it.
*Service (5/5): Service was very good. The servers were Polite, quick, hospitable and attentive.
I recommend this place for your cozy brunches, hearty breakfasts, Evening snacks and coffees in a relaxed setting. And this place is egg heaven and a must visit place...
