TIMBER CAFE IMPHAL — Restaurant in Manipur

For me it was a 3 star restaurant. Timbers got a good atmosphere, and its not overcrowded. The servers were attentive and professional. The value for money for non exotic items was good. And for exotic items like octopus was a little high as per the qty. Therefore 3 stars for the food being decent for the price. So we ordered hotwings and stir fry octopus for starters, mains some Pad Thai noodles with pork and chichen something Spaghetti and probably some pork dish. With a coffee and shake for drinks. The hot wings were either not fresh or overdone, the exterior was leathery and hard, the interior was out of juices. The octopus was a decent stir fry, I mean you can't go wrong with such an easy dish.. The mains were decent however lacked any wow factor which I thought comes with hype of Timber as a restaurant. Also we had to send a search party for the chicken and pork in the spaghetti and noodles respectively.

Things that made me uncomfortable are.. I waited 40 mins to use the washroom, coz staff were using it, and they were professional but not courteous, we were turned away as we arrived 10 mins before time, they could have let us sit and wait.

Order multiple items today. Cappuccino was okayish. Not great. Quantity was less too. Not sure if there was a large option. Brown Rice Green Tea was good. Spaghetti (see picture if that was Spaghetti) was NOT eatable. The meat in meat ball was still alive!! “Japanese” Cheese Cake was just a regular cake. It was NOT even a regular cheese cake. Forget being a “Japanese” cheese cake. The young servers were okay. They need a bit more training perhaps. We ordered 3 cappuccino. It was served promptly. However, we were given just 3 sugar packets, 1 coffee stirrer!! and 4-5 napkins after a few minutes. We requested them to bring extra sugar packet, 2 more coffee stirrer and more napkins. Coffee was barely warm by then as we were sitting outside.

The 3 stars is for the new ambience on the terrace which is amazing. Location is great. Ample of parking space which is a luxury for a place like Imphal. This could become a favourite hangout place!

I hope to visit again soon and hoping against hope that the food taste better. I will happily change it to...

Yesterday I went their along wid my friend so I ordered 1 Brown rice tea(60),1freshlime juice(150),1thai pad noodles(240),1French fries(130),2japanese cheese cakes(200), 1 chicken ramen (350)which should be costed around 1130 but they add another round of brown rice tea which was only a common tea bag, lime juice making it 1340 ....I Don't know why they did it.. maybe they thought just bcoz we are not from here we won't understand. Lol! And just some kid who won't check the bills. Anyway I Don't want to stretch this further but we careful , whoever see my reviews Don't let them fool u like us stupids. I regret to not check the bills yesterday and what more I even gave them a tip of 10 since I find everything their good especially them playing Taylor's song. However I never thought that such a place would do this to poor outside student like me.
