Govinda's: A Vegetarian Delight in Mayapur Tucked away in the spiritual hub of Mayapur, Govinda's shines as a beacon for delicious and diverse vegetarian fare. What impressed me most was their unique concept of taking any dish you crave and transforming it into a vegetarian masterpiece. This not only caters to vegetarian preferences but also opens up a whole new world of culinary possibilities.
Tastebud-wise, Govinda's delivered on all fronts. The food was a delightful explosion of flavors, offering something for everyone's palate. The Kashmiri pulao, in particular, was a must-try - a fragrant and flavorful symphony of rice, spices, and vegetables. My personal favorites were the [kashmiri pulao and dessert], which showcased the chefs' skill in crafting vegetarian versions of classic dishes.
Another noteworthy aspect was their commitment to cleanliness. The restaurant was spotless, and the hygiene standards were exemplary. It truly put one at ease when enjoying a meal.
While the food and ambiance were top-notch, the service could benefit from a slight speed boost. At times, it felt a bit slow, especially during peak hours. However, the friendly and helpful staff more than made up for it with their warm smiles and positive attitude.
Overall, Govinda's is a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful and fulfilling vegetarian experience in Mayapur. The innovative concept, diverse flavors, and clean environment make it a standout. And for tea lovers, it's an adventure worth exploring, though everyone's taste buds are different, so come with an open mind!
Final Tip: Don't miss the Kashmiri pulao! It's truly a vegetarian masterpiece.
Pro Tip: If you're visiting during peak hours, be prepared for a slight wait. But the delicious food and warm service are definitely worth it!
I hope this review captures your experience at Govinda's and entices others...
Read morePoorly managed restaurant. Good points are that in Breakfast Dosa, Sambar, Chutney is good. Aloo paratha texture & quality was good but tasteless as there was no salt in the filing. Poori was good but Bhaji was not hot & with paneer in bhaji it was a disaster. Uttapam was good. Don't try kulcha, it is stuffed paratha in maida dough with sesame (til) on top. North Indians will have heart attack to see kulcha here.
We also ordered lunch previous day and it took hours to serve. Waiters are unprofessional, disinterested & cold in response and service. There is no one dedicated to manage the guests/ Customers visiting the restaurant. One has to find their own seating, no plain water is served, one must buy bottled water. In the afternoon I ordered for 10 buttermilk/ chaat and the waiter didn't even bothered to seat us, or serve, just told me to pickup myself. Most of the food served on the table comes from central kitchen & not made fresh at site.
Govindas in mayapur is no match for quality & service to Juhu, Girgaon, Vadodara & Bangaluru.
Very disappointing. Rude attitude of waiters/ servers. However Dosa at Govindas is better than Madhavas. It is expensive compare to other cities &...
Read moreAlmost a lot of people spoke very high of this place and hence thought of having our lunch in Govindas , when we visited ISKON Mayapur on 11/09/2022. To be very honest I was highly disappointed with the food that was served. We ordered Jeera Rice with navratna korma and matar paneer. Quantity was good and even the price was very reasonable, but the taste of each and every item we ordered on that day was just pathetic. The Navratna korma had a weird smell, the rice and the vegetables were dead cold. We couldn't even finish the food. I usually always make sure that I never waste food that I take in my plate. Even when I dont like a certain food that was served to me, I always try to finish it as I dislike wasting food. But that day was an exception. The food was so pale and so cold that after few bites, not a single nibble was going down my throat. So to summarise I would say, as per my personal observation, the place was a big disappointment. I didn't try the Western foods that they were serving like pastas, pizzas so won't be able to comment on that, but as far as the Indian food is concerned the restaurant definitely needs to...
