After leaving Nalgre Food Corner, I moved on to my next stop, @aroundthecorner22 a restaurant which literally was around the corner. I remember reaching out to them last year as I noticed they had Dosas & a few south indian dishes on their menu on Google but sadly was informed that south indian items have been removed from the menu for quite sometime.

I stepped in to a space which was divided into 3 parts with one part being the kitchen, the front being the counter with a table & chairs along with benches & another small room inside with 2 proper tables & chairs. I sat inside. It was rather cozy. I had a look at the menu & it was mostly Chinese.

I decided on a Chicken Soup, a Chicken Drumstick for starters, a Smoked Pork Fried Rice as entrè & a coffee to wash it all down. The Smoked Pork Fried Rice got me excited as not every restaurant serves it.

Except for the coffee, everything came all at once. Service was quick. First was the soup. I don't like eggs in my soup & this soup was almost a clear soup but tasted way much better. There was decent amount of chicken in it. Next was the drumstick which was seasoned with chaat masala. I took a bite & the batter on top wasn't very thick, so it was mostly meat. It was good as well. The rice was fried with carrots & beans & garnished with spring onions but the taste of the smoked pork besieged the taste of the dish, in a good way. 95% of the smoked pork was tender, which is definitely pretty good. I hate it when the smoked meats are still chewy & stringy. The coffee in the end was hand made & was very good too. It made me end my meal on a pleasant note.

Overall this is a good place in the area to help you satisfy your Chinese cravings.

The menu is diverse, featuring a range of options to suit various tastes.I opted for their pork chilly dry, Smoked pork fried rice along with their pork fried momos and their fries and i must say it exceeded all expectations.😍 The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, further enhanced by the accompanying sauce that was just YUM!!! 🤤 In terms of pricing it provides excellent value for the quality and quantity of food and service offered. This is a small cafe in Laban. The ambience is great with a small yet cozy setting. We ordered chicken drumstick, chicken wings, cheese sandwich and iced tea.

The chicken drumstick was good: well seasoned and juicy. The chicken wings were just amazing. The cheese sandwich came with fries, but there was no cheese in it. The peach iced tea was really good.

What made everything tastier, was the price! It was very budget friendly.
