FILLO — Restaurant in Mira-Bhayander

Recently, on the last Sunday, my husband and I decided to go out for dinner. We thought of trying a new restaurant nearby.

We chose The Fillo, a recently opened restaurant in Bhayandar West. Excited about visiting the place, and considering it was a weekend, we decided to reach early to avoid waiting. However, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment, resulting in one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.

When we arrived, they informed us that all the tables were occupied and asked us to wait for 30 minutes. We had reached at 7:45 PM, but even after waiting, we didn’t get a table. The host insisted we sit in the garden area, which was vacant. However, we had clearly mentioned that we preferred an AC table and were willing to wait. This made me feel quite awkward—if we had already requested an AC table, why were they trying to force us into the garden area?

To make matters worse, we noticed a group of four people arrive without a reservation, yet they were promptly offered an AC table. When we questioned the host and the manager, they claimed the table was for four people and not for two. My husband and I were furious with this illogical reasoning. After arguing with them, they apologized and eventually arranged a table of six for us.

Once seated, barely 5–7 minutes passed before a staff member approached us and asked us to move to a smaller table for two so they could accommodate another family of 4–5 people. While we agreed to cooperate, we couldn’t help but feel undervalued as customers. Regardless of whether there are two or four diners, everyone is paying for their meal, and this kind of treatment felt discriminatory.

While seated at the table for two, we observed the staff moving another family from a table for six to a table for four, just to accommodate others. The constant shuffling of guests between tables was chaotic and showed a complete lack of management.

The food, unfortunately, didn’t make up for the poor service. The menu was limited, and the dishes we tried were disappointing:

Cheese Fries: Served in a strainer, causing all the liquid cheese to drain off. The fries were dry and lacked flavor. When we complained, they apologized and served cheese separately, but by then, the taste was already ruined.

Chur Chur Naan: This was essentially a crumbled potato paratha with no distinctive flavor or masala.

Pesto Bao: While new and somewhat acceptable, it wasn’t impressive.

Frustrated, we gave up and didn’t order anything else. The overall experience felt like a complete waste of time and money. In hindsight, we should’ve gone to one of our usual dining spots where we’re always satisfied with the meal and service.

Finally, no meal at Fillo is complete without trying their mouth-refreshing desserts. We savored the Mango Cream, a luscious treat that provided the perfect ending to our gastronomic journey. The creamy mango goodness left us wanting more and sealed the deal for a memorable dining experience.
