Afzal restaurant is famous for it’s “kepsa rice”. Kepsa rice is a mixture of chicken fried rice and chicken tandoori. This rice also includes 3-4 boiled eggs along with some salad which includes carrot, onion and tomato. Instead of serving it in a plate or a medium sized utensil, they prefer to serve it in a big thali which gives you the feel of eating like a nawab or a Mughal. The kepsa rice is served in two proportions half and the other one is the full. Half kepsa is ample enough for serving 2-3 people while full on the other hand can easily serve 5 people. They do have 2 sections ac and non ac. Ac section is located besides the restaurant and goes under the name of Mao Chinese centre. Talking about the hygiene part, it is below average, so just in case if you’re looking for an hygienic place this is not the right place to be. Instead you can opt for takeaway option which is must better than eating at that particular restaurant. They do serve different types of deserts as well of which caramel custard is the best out of all the deserts served over here.

Good Tasting Food at good price. We tried the veg(paneer) kepsa which is basically paneer gravy layered with fried rice along with some onions and tomatoes. The kepsa is served in a large plate and serves 2 if you order half and serves 4 if you order full. The rice and the gravy was very mild in taste and your mouth won't remember that you had it even after an hour. The quantity was good too. My other friends ordered chicken kepsa which is chicken tandoori topped with gravy topped with same fried rice. Their reviews were also good. The overall service at the restaurant was also great and the attendants were very good and made us feel like home(well that's a overstatement). But the only thing for which I rated it 4 stars is that the hygiene was not very good. The plates looked ok but some of them had permanent stains on them. Also the sink for washing hands was a bit littered with rice. Also I saw a Waiter washing spoons in the sink using handwash soap. Overall it was good.

Bored of daily meal ? and looking for delicious or more than that, then you must have it... I was wandering around mazgoan (mumbai) area, and currently I thought of "KEPSA'". And in a second I buckled my shoe and ran to Afzal Restaurant. Afzal restaurant in Mazgoan laocallity is world famous for Kepsa. Here I come back to brief you exact what is kepsa ? Kepsa, which is an Indianized version of Arabic Kabsa which is fusion of chicken, especially chicken leg piece and biryani rice. The Afzal restaurant from mazgoan area serves mouth smacking "KEPSA". The spiciness of biryani and the well cooked chicken with large sausages chicken leg piece which is more toothsome. I can't beat it's taste. I though think You should also bookmark in your list for the next delicious item. In frame : Chicken Kepsa Cost : 700rs Location : Afzal Restaurant, Mazgoan, Mumbai. PS : 1kepsa is served between 4 pupils.

Afzal Restaurant, located in Mazgaon, Mumbai, is renowned for its signature dish, the Chicken Kepsa. This flavorful rice preparation, inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine, has garnered a dedicated following among locals and visitors alike.

The Kepsa at Afzal Restaurant is celebrated for its generous portions and affordability. A half plate, priced around ₹400, is often sufficient for two to three individuals, making it an excellent choice for group dining. The dish features aromatic rice cooked with a blend of spices, topped with succulent pieces of chicken, and is often accompanied by additional gravy upon request. Patrons have praised its rich taste and satisfying quality.

While the Kepsa is the star attraction, the restaurant's ambiance is modest, reflecting a traditional dining setup. The establishment tends to be crowded, especially during peak hours, which speaks to its popularity. Service is generally prompt, though the high demand can occasionally lead to brief waiting periods.

In summary, Afzal Restaurant's Chicken Kepsa offers a delightful culinary experience, combining rich flavors with substantial portions at an affordable price point. It's a must-try for those seeking to indulge in a hearty and flavorful...

I have eaten 2 times here once in 2014 n later in 2022 n I loved their kepsa so much.I recently went there on 8th apr with my grandma n 2 friends after iftari. we ordered half chicken hungama kepsa & tandoori. kepsa wasn't same as before.im bit disappointed taste wasn't that good as well n it had so much oil.price was 850 but there were only 2 small lollipop & 2 chicken roll starter on top.& Only 1 egg. also they used to garnish it with cucumber beet, carrot & onion but this time there were only 3-4 slices of each no beetroot.so we had to ask them twice for salad. although the staff was good n they gave us but isn't it first impression is last impression? when we entered the room it was stinky & chilled so we had to ask to increase the temperature or switch it off. -Quantity was good enough for 4-5 people. -tandoori was delicious & we also told them to grilled it properly so it tasted so good.they have open 3 more restaurant in same place but I feel like the level of their kepsa has gone down now. Next time I'll try their special kepsa n I hope it won't...
