Bay Leaf Veg (Pure Veg Thakur Complex) — Restaurant in Mumbai

Right into bylanes of Thakur complex this family restaurant is perfect place for people looking for dining with budget.. Ambiance is decent.. It has non ac section which is bigger than their ac section.. Seatings are comfortable.. We started here with pav bhaji which was good in taste but very less spicy.. Let them know beforehand to make spicy if u guys want spicy.. We had mix vegetable Parathas n they were simply delicious.. It was served along with chole n black dal n both of them tasted very good n having them with Parathas will surely tantalise ur taste buds.. .. We also had vegetable cheese pizza n it had nice crispy layer n tasted decent.. Best was onion uttapam.. Batter was very nice n it tasted very authentic.. We ended our meal with triple szechuan fried rice.. Fried rice was served along with manchurian gravy n dry noodles n quantity was good for 2 people.. Fried rice was less oily, had good veggies in it, n tasted good n gravy was decent.. Service was impressive.. Our server was courteous n was quick in serving us.. Pricing is reasonable.. Overall I had decent meal experience out here.. One can surely give this place a try n will suggest to try South Indian n Parathas out here

Have been visiting this hotel since I was in 4th grade, it's like our family hotel. The staff is really welcoming, never ever faced a problem till today. I feel outraged while writing this but it's important for me to put this across the management. I had planned a surprise dinner for my dad as I'm not in Mumbai. I called the hotel at 7 30 pm and paid the amount. The guy on the call said it will take 35 mins which is the standard time. At 8 10 I called the hotel to check if the delivery boy has left with the order or not, he said he has another order to deliver hence it'll take more 10 mins. At 8 45, my family is still waiting for the order to arrive and no one is answering our calls at the hotel. I tried through 3 4 different numbers to see if anyone's answering. I even called Mohan Shetty as I had his number because of the payment I made. To my surprise, the guy at the hotel answered my call but as soon as he knew it's me he cut the call. For 20 30 mins I was just calling the hotel like a fool only to check the status of my order. It's really disappointing to know that a hotel with such a good brand name in customer loyalty and service is so careless. I hope the manager takes such issues...

Just came back from bay leaf. I asked for jain food telling specifically that I don't need onion garlic and potato in my food. When asked for suggestion they aloo bhaji, now what a suggestion, when pointed that I don't need aloo , they suggested chana masala, I ordered one , but when the dish was served it was so sour (khatta), that I suggested them to add some butter or ghee in it to reduce khatta, they took it back and after some came back with full plate again after heating it and adding cream. Now no offence but I didn't consume much of it finished dinner and asked for bill. In the meantime I was given finger bowl and while I was cleaning fingers, the guy started to clean the table resulting in water splitting on the table and double work for the poor chap. Don't know what to say but clearly they need more trained staff and a good chef, minimum expectation is that atleast they can taste their own food before serving to customers. Overall a bad experience and will certainly not recommend others...
