Chunkys Cake Shop — Restaurant in Mumbai

I had one of the worst experiences at this cake shop. The staff is extremely arrogant and always has issues with providing change. Imagine spending ₹60 and giving a ₹100 note—they don’t even have ₹40 to return. Even if you spend ₹450 and hand over a ₹500 note, they can’t provide ₹50 back! Instead, they push you for online payment, but what if someone is facing network or app issues? They simply deny giving change and argue with customers.

On top of that, they don’t provide any carry bags—whether you spend ₹59 or even ₹4000. I understand the plastic ban, but a responsible shop should at least arrange paper bags for customers. Even if you order more than 2 kg of cake, they don’t have a proper cake box—the box itself is too small, making it a real struggle to carry the cake on a bike or scooter.

They also refuse to provide home delivery even within 200 meters. The counter guy always says “I’m alone in the shop, no staff available,” while you can clearly see 2–3 people just relaxing inside the baking area.

To top it all, the cakes and pastries are overpriced compared to nearby shops, yet the quality is poor. Pastries taste pathetic and the cakes don’t feel fresh at all. Honestly, this place is not worth the money or the trouble. If you want good service and better taste, I strongly recommend going to other bakeries instead. Don’t waste your time...

Chunky’s cake shop is a delight for people with sweet tooth. the menu has a wide range of pastries and cakes with lovely flavours and icing. I tried Black forest cake- the chocolate sponge was soft and moist. The icing with cherry wasn’t much sweet too. The cream was nice and soft and also adequate. I ordered this for my dad’s bday.

Blueberry pastry- the vanilla sponge with cream. It had blueberry crush in the layers. Right amount of sweetness.

Butterscotch pastry- this is the most under-rated flavours in cakes. Its my favourite too! The vanilla sponge with the butterscotch icing is something to try!

Pineapple pasty- Its my mum’s fav and she loved it. The bits of pineapple between, in the filling made the pastry delicious.

I recently had the pleasure of ordering a Rasmalai photo cake from Chunky's cake shop for my parents 46th anniversary and I am absolutely delighted with the experience. The quality of the cake was exceptional – moist, flavorful, yummy and beautifully decorated with edible candles. What impressed me the most was the convenience of placing an order on the same day and still receiving such a high-quality product.

The owner Mr.Saurabh Yadav went above and beyond to ensure that the cake was delivered before time, and the delivery process was smooth and efficient. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the owner and staff for providing such wonderful service and for making our celebration even more special. I highly recommend chunky's to anyone in need of a delicious, top-notch cake with unparalleled customer service.
