Friday evenings hit different when you are transported straight to Thailand, right in the heart of Bandra
I visited Khao Man Gai by Seefah with a friend and what an incredible experience it was. From the moment we stepped in, it felt like we were dining at a cozy street-side restaurant in Thailand. The vibe, the food, the aesthetics—truly authentic.
Tucked away in the bylanes of Bandra, this place is easy to miss but impossible to forget. Bonus: you are greeted by a chill feline squad lounging near the entrance (yes, a few cute kittens and their mama — no joke).
The seating is minimal, with a small indoor area and a few outdoor tables. We got lucky with an outdoor spot during dinner time, so you might want to come early, especially on weekends when there is usually a 10–15 minute wait.
Here is what we ordered and absolutely loved:
Khao Man Gai (Chicken, No Skin): Tender, juicy chicken, fragrant rice, flavorful sauces and a light clear soup. Just like the authentic version you would find on the streets of Bangkok.
Crispy Prawns Cereal: Crispy prawns tossed with crushed cereal. Perfectly golden and crunchy, paired with a delicious chilli sauce. The textures were exceptional.
Mango Sticky Rice: The dish we came for, and it did not disappoint. Sweet, sticky, coconut-rich and beautifully balanced.
Price: Approx ₹2,000 for two Portions are generous and ideal for sharing.
We also appreciated their sustainable approach—stainless steel cutlery and minimal waste. Thoughtful details like this always leave a lasting impression.
If you are craving authentic Thai flavours and a dining experience that feels like a quick escape to Thailand, this is the place to be. #FoodieFinds #MumbaiEats...
Read moreKhao Man Gai by Seefah – Bangkok Soul in a Bandra Backstreet Tucked into a quiet Bandra lane, Khao Man Gai by Seefah feels like stepping through a portal; less restaurant, more Bangkok side-street canteen. It reminded me of a spot I ate at, near a bus stop in Bangkok, a few years ago. The plastic chairs, tight tables, tiled walls. It’s a vibe, and a comforting one at that.
The Cereal Prawns are outrageously good. Its all about the dipping sauce! And of course, the Khao Man Gai is the name and the soul here: I usually get it roasted. Dipping sauces that do all the heavy lifting. Comfort food, Thai-style - restrained but deeply satisfying.
The drinks (non-alcoholic) are surprisingly sharp. Refreshing, unfussy and exactly what you want on a humid Bombay evening.
One small wish: I missed the little tub of sugar on the table, like in most street-side Thai spots. That gentle ritual of tuning sweet-sour-salty-spicy to your liking—it’s part of the experience. But maybe that's me being romantic.
Khao Man Gai by Seefah isn’t trying to impress. It’s trying to transport. And it does. If you know, you know. And if...
Read moreI was hungry and wanted something I'd never had before and I remembered a reel I'd seen on @mumbaifoodie so I got on Swiggy and looked up Khao Man Gai. I ordered, Khao Man Gai Grilled without skin Banana Roti (as they recommended it in the reel)
The order came packed like a thali meal and all the liquids in separate containers that fit into the thali mold. Not a drop spilt even though it travelled from Bandra to Chembur. I've never been to Thailand, but had a lot of Thai food in India and abroad, but this was a completely different experience.
The rice was comforting, savoury and rich as if a delicate chicken broth absorbed into every grain of rice. It wasn't spicy or tangy , just gentle and deeply aromatic as was the grilled chicken. The chicken broth was not rich like a ramen stock, nor spicy like a tom yum. It was light, clean and savoury.
The dish came with a sweet soy and a tangy chilli-ginger-garlic sauce that was O so good!
It was a huge portion so split it between two days for lunch. Loved it, but next time I'm going to get the steamed one.
I didn't like the...
