Visited Shalimar Restaurant in Kurla and had an amazing experience! The rich flavors of their Mughlai biryanis and Indian curries are simply unforgettable, and the Chinese dishes are equally delightful. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with options for AC, Non-AC, and Dastarkhawn dining. As one of the oldest Mughlai restaurants in Kurla, Shalimar truly lives up to its reputation. Highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic and delicious cuisine! I tried , Chicken Mix Platter: A delicious mix of different chicken pieces, all cooked perfectly. Paneer Crispy: Fried paneer that's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Very tasty! Chicken Dilkhush (Boneless Tandoori Butter Roti): Juicy tandoori chicken with buttery roti. The ambience (5/5) is really good here. The service was good and prompt, may be because I visited this place on a weekday. I had Chicken cheesy kebabs - the chicken supreme pieces (6 big pieces) were tender and juicy (5/5) Masala Papad - this was regular quarter plate size papad with not so overloaded toppings which was actually good because heavy toppings makes it difficult to eat and makes the papad soggy. (4/5) Virgin Mojito - again, a regular glass of Virgin Mojito, not too artificially sweet. (4/5) Kunafa - this was served in a small bowl, the vermicelli was not crisp (which I expected it to be) however the inside was filled with good amount of soft cream cheese. A franchise of the renowned Shalimar Restaurant of Bhendi Bazaar- this place is anything but an extremely poor version of the fabulous original. Visited last night- the latest. Ordered their sizzler version and to our shocking surprise- the starters were cold even on a sizzler. Didnt understand how. On enquiring the serving waiter offered to get it warmed. Such insensitive hospitality. Instead of making a scene we decided to simply exit after having their falooda- the only thing that taste original. The serving staff was expecting a tip- what for - serving cold food and not battling an eyelid for it. Dont think this place will survive unless the original management does something drastic before their reputation...
