As a local who’s tasted dahibara aludum from almost every corner of Cuttack, I’d say Kanha Dahibara Aludum near Barabati Stadium is honestly a bit overhyped. The place is often crowded, especially in the evenings, but the food doesn’t quite live up to the buzz. The bara feels too fragile and breaks apart very easily — missing that soft yet firm texture you expect in a well-made dahibara. The aludum gravy is thick and heavy, but the taste leans on the spicier side, and you can really feel the raw masala hitting your palate. It lacks the balanced, slow-cooked flavour that traditional Cuttack-style aludum usually has.
Another thing I personally didn’t like was the over-garnishing — they add too much sev and other unnecessary toppings that take away from the authentic taste. The presentation looks flashy, but it doesn’t improve the flavour in any way. For the price and hype, I expected something more refined.
If you really want to enjoy a good plate of dahibara aludum, I’d honestly suggest exploring the nearby small stalls around the stadium — many of them serve more authentic, balanced, and satisfying plates without all the unnecessary...

The only downer is the service, can’t complain given the demand, but the owners can atleast employ extra helping hands to take care of the crowd & demand. Besides, the hygiene at the entire dahibara market near Barabati is really below par!
Having said that, our love food often side-steps the factors...
