'Masa'hari Kitchen Katraj — Restaurant in Pune

Was going through PEO posts randomly yesterday, when I happen to stumble upon Masa'hari's offer on Fish Platters only for Saturday April 17th 😍 The fish lover in me just could not resist this tempting offer which also had a promised cashback !!!

Placed the order immediately for a Mini platter. In the order notes, I had mentioned about my hearing handicap and requested to be contacted on whatsapp, if needed. What a pleasant surprise I got when Rahul from Masa'hari did exactly that without resorting to phone call !! I was truly impressed with this sensitivity to my handicap. First step won by Masahari 👏👏👏

Today, I was eagerly awaiting the platter and some more surprises also greeted me. The delivery was most punctual and was neatly packed inaluminium foil box. 2nd ✅

What a grand platter as I opened the box : 1 Large Surmai Rawa / Tawa Fry 1 avg size Pomfret Rawa/ Tawa Fry 1 Full Bangada Rawa fry 5 Mandeli Deep Rawa Fry 5 long Bombil Deep Rawa Fry 5 Jumbo Prawns Koliwada Salad + Green Chutney + Limbu ...... and made medium spicy exactly as I had requested. 3rd✅

I am not fond of spicy food.... eating with watering eyes and nose I dislike. But today's platter was pipingly hot (not spicy but hot as in गरमागरम) and awesome fresh fish!! Rahul himself had personally delivered but since I had never met him before I didn't recognise him. My bad, sorry Rahul ! I came to know this later when he himself disclosed it over whatsapp. Quite a humble person he is ... ✅4th tick

The payment was without any hassles through Gpay and Rahul so kindly insisted that I eat first while the fishes were warm and pay later. 5th ✅

What a beautiful, lazy Saturday lunch it was !! Now waiting to give the last ✅ on getting my cashback 🤓😝. Hats off to Rahul and Masa'hari team for getting ✅s consistently on all fronts. Wishing your venture all the best in these testing times. I am not well versed with FB and tagging and hence could not tag Supriya Parab and Masahari...

Meh, that's how I felt after dining here. After reading great reviews on Pune Eat Outs, went here with high expectations, and boy was it underwhelming. I'm sure this would resonate with those who eat malvani fish preparations regularly.

First, we ordered the popular starter, Bombil Lemon Pepper. It wasn't bad, very similar to fish fingers, but the Bombil did not seem fresh.

Then, for the main course, we were a bit disappointed to know that only Surmai, Prawns and Pomphret were available for thali. No Bangda, Halwa, and a few more easily available fish in the market? Anyway, at that point, we decided to order Surmai and Prawn Thali.

Thalis were served quickly, then we realised there was no fish/prawns in the curry. For a Thali worth ₹500+, I think it is reasonable to expect a fish fry and fish curry with a few pieces. What is one supposed to eat chapati/bhakri with? Moving on, Solkadhi had sugar in it. That's blasphemy for authentic Malvani cuisine. I requested if we could get it without sugar, the request was denied promptly.

Moving on to Thali items - Curry - okay taste, not bad, but not close to malvani mashyachi amti. Maybe it wasn't supposed to be that. Surmai and Prawns fry - Good, a bit oily. Solkadhi - As mentioned before. Sukat chutney - Good. Lasun chutney - Good.

All in all, we drove here from Baner seeking an authentic Malvani experience, but left from here feeling like the authenticity was missing a bit. The taste is good, hence 3 stars, but it's not really up to the mark for hype this place has gotten on...

Today for lunch i visited this restaurant as shravan was over and had to eat fish..we had came here by seeing one vlog on youtube and checked out its rating. 1)First as it was sunday and shravan was over their was waiting ..we had to almost wait for half hour 2)After half hour we got place but than ordrer came after 45-50 mints as their were 3-4 orders pending 3)We had ordered two paplet thali as surmai thali was out of stock and in starter had order bombil lemon fry as prawns garlic sarter out of stock 4)paplet thali review-in paplet thali fish was so small as compared to price that really disappointed me and taste wise it was ok also just one teaspoon chutney , one tea spoon sukat , sol kadhi was of two - three sip and bhakri was also sooo small...that really disappointed me ...as the price of thali was 500 ..rice was unlimited and curry was not that taste and unlimite. 5)lemon bombil fry review- this was something we tried new and was good ...one must try once .it also had mayo dip Overall rating it as 3 bcoz price is too high compared to quantify served and instead of serving cutney or thhat. Tamarind water i think they can cut that. And include something else that might make customers happy..while hygiene wise its i very good restaurant..Also we can see their open kitchen..they are very careful and prompt in serving fresh food. Also their waiter(Mayur) was very calm and patient in talking, taking orders and serving and asking...
