Arkie's Born Bakers — Restaurant in Pune

I was in the area and wanted to eat Chicken puff, I came across this local bakery which supposedly is very famous in Fatima Nagar. As soon, as you enter the place, it gives you a fresh fragrance of the bakery. It also has ample of seating space. The place had variety of things to choose from and I got confused but I stuck to what I had come for chicken puff, it was fresh, flaky and with good chicken pieces. We also ordered a chocolate roll and a cappuccino. The chocolate roll was a bit heated and given to us, so it was just melting and tasted nice and fresh. I think we should have had the chocolate roll just from the fridge, it would have given a different taste to it. The Cappuccino was nicely made and tasted good. We also bought a couple of breads for home and they were all very soft and fresh. Overall it is a pocket friendly place. One must definitely not miss this place. The only reason I can imagine for their high ratings is their prices are relatively economical compared to most bakeries.

Many items are unavailable or super stale (esp. their breads). The cakes are almost all eggless and therefore really dry. The puff pastry is pastey / chewy and not crisp / crunchy...

Worst of all, the service staff sucks... rude, disgusting manners, chauvinistic... even the manager lies blatantly and doesn't keep commitments.... and the owner is completely disinterested in how the branch is doing.

I only like their chicken burger & fries. It's old school enjoyable. But recently they turn one or the other off on Swiggy... Last week I called to ask if the burger was available - they said yes. I asked them to turn it on, on Swiggy so I can order it. This week fries we're off. I called the man yesterday and he said he will turn it on. He didn't. And now it isn't even visible on the menu.

I used to like this place and have been there quite often. But they have lost a customer now because of their unprofessional behaviour. I recently went to order a cake for my daughter's birthday. They insisted that cake could only be made in a particular size and design. When we went to them with some modifications (well before the birthday) the staff was very disinterested and rude. They had no coordination among themselves and there was utter confusion about who would take the order. The lady who was to make the cake was absolutely inflexible and walked off in a huff when we told her what we wanted. They finally agreed to a particular design but on the day of the birthday we were shocked to receive an entirely different looking cake from what we had ordered. I had to accept the cake coz I didn't have another choice at the last minute but I will never order...
