Today was 'Babys Day Out'... 😀. As one of the house help had not come, plus we had some work out, so decided to step out for late Breakfast, but it became almost our Brunch, as after coming home, decided to give lunch a skip. Went to Butterwala & Co, at Kondhwa. Had... Masala Akuri with Toast ... 160/- Okay, nothing great (the pic got deleted by mistake). Chilli Chicken, Grilled Sandwich... 180/-. After a bite and two, wasn't sure, what sandwich was it, so opened it. And saw more of green chutney. Asked the staff to confirm, and know what sandwich was it. He confirmed, that it was chicken. And was kind enough to take the rest back, and get with proper chicken filling. It was not actually 'chilli chicken', but more like shredded chicken, with lot of chilli flakes. Mutton Kheema... 255/-. Came with 2 Pao. Had to take another 2 Pao... 20/-, to finish the Kheema. Kheema was okay, but miss the Bombay style of nice and grainy Kheema. Took Mawa Cake... 50/-. This was not so fresh and was a bit dry and also a small piece. Could not eat it, as we were too full. So got it packed, along with, half portion of the grilled sandwiches. Fresh Lime Water (sweet)... 50/- 2 Irani Chai... 60/-. Good 👍. 1 Special Kadak Chai... 40/-. This was pretty good. 1 Regular Mineral Water... 10/-. Total Bill... 825/-. They gave a discount of 25/- 😊....
Read moreTried butterwala & co. for the first time. I've listed a few pros and cons for people visiting to keep in mind. Pros : Love the varieties they have from Irani menu (Chai, bun maska etc.) to authentic parsi food cuisine. I tried Tandoori Chicken omlete which comes with 2 slices of buttered bread ( technically 4 slices) + Chicken Cheese Grilled sandwich + 2 Irani chai + Bun Malai. Loved the taste, flavours and the concept which I have never tried before especially in breakfast restaurants or menu. Quick service
Cons: Hygiene is an issue for people very cautious about hygiene and hygienic environment especially while eating. Since their serving table is visible it is not very appealing to see the way they handle and maintain the plates, food ordered. The staff there are very clumsy. They were shouting, fighting and behaving very casual which wasn't a good scene.
Prices don't justify the price. Prices are really high in compared to the quantity they serve.
Overall I can say is it's a good place for a casual chai and all. I would definitely go back for the Tandoori omlete but not for the girlled sandwich only because of...
Read moreThis is a classic example of how restaurants deteriorate the quality after winning over customer confidence. Even after charging a bomb of price they are applying MARGARINE (a sub-standard butter made up of vegetable oil) and not real butter. What an irony they are playing with their name "butterwala and co" When I highlighted this to the man at the counter he became numb and conscious that other customers might have heard. Just agreed by nodding his head. But no re-assurance of correcting.
We ordered below: Cheese Bun Butter Masala Omlette: Smaller size as compared to other cafe. They grated some sub-standard cheese cube (dry and tasteless) after preparing the omlette and the cheese didn't even melt.
Egg white omlette without cheese: this was okay but again tasteless
Toast butter: cold and chewy. Looked like they toasted it long ago and gave it to us. Again NO BUTTER . . Only MARGARINE.
ONLY saving grace was Tea. Good in taste with strong flavors.
PLEASE AVOID TO SAVE YOUR...
