If you're in Pune and craving authentic Khandeshi cuisine, Hotel Khandesh is a must-visit. This place brings the bold and rustic flavors of Maharashtra’s Khandesh region right to your plate. From the moment you step in, the aroma of freshly ground spices and sizzling tandoor dishes fills the air, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
The restaurant isn’t very spacious, but that adds to its charm. The cozy setting makes it feel more homely and warm. Due to its popularity, there’s often a waiting period, but trust me, the food is worth it. They also offer small cabin-like seating areas where you can dine privately with your family, friends, or team. This makes it an ideal place for intimate gatherings, team dinners, or family outings.
The highlight of this place is undoubtedly its authentic Khandeshi cuisine. Expect rich, spicy gravies, perfectly cooked bhakris, and flavorful non-vegetarian dishes like Gavran Chicken, Mutton Sukka, and Kala Masala Curries. Vegetarians will love the Baingan Bharta, Pithla Bhakri, and Bharli Vangi. Every dish carries that traditional, homely touch, reminding you of the kitchens of rural Maharashtra.
Despite the waiting time, the staff is efficient and polite, ensuring that your experience remains pleasant. The food arrives fresh and hot, maintaining the authenticity of Khandeshi flavors.
If you love spicy, traditional Maharashtrian food, Hotel Khandesh is a fantastic place to visit. It’s a great spot for family dinners, group outings, or even casual meetups. Just be prepared for a bit of waiting, but rest assured, the flavors will make it...
Read moreMy recent visit to Khandesh Restaurant was nothing short of a disappointment, leaving me with a sour taste in my mouth – both figuratively and literally.
Let's start with the ambiance, or lack thereof. The restaurant was poorly lit and had a dreary atmosphere that immediately put a damper on the dining experience. It felt more like a cafeteria than a place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.
Moving on to the food, I was unimpressed to say the least. The menu boasted a variety of dishes, but the execution was sorely lacking. The food arrived cold and tasted as though it had been sitting out for hours. The flavors were bland and uninspired, leaving me wondering if the chef had any culinary skills at all.
To make matters worse, the service was abysmal. The waitstaff were inattentive and seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the needs of the customers. It took an eternity to place our order, and even longer for the food to finally arrive at our table.
And let's not forget about the prices. For the quality of food and service provided, the prices were exorbitant. I felt like I was being robbed blind for a subpar dining experience.
In conclusion, my visit to Khandesh Restaurant was a complete waste of time and money. I would strongly advise against dining here unless you enjoy mediocre food, poor service, and a depressing atmosphere. Save yourself the trouble and...
Read moreI recently had dinner at Hotel Khandesh in Pashan and honestly, it turned out to be a really good experience. The place has a simple, no-frills setup but it feels welcoming and comfortable the moment you walk in. It’s neat, well-kept, and gives you the vibe of a place where you can sit back and enjoy your food without any rush.
The food here deserves special mention. We tried a few of their dishes, and everything was fresh, nicely cooked, and flavorful. The curries had just the right balance of spices, and the rotis were soft and served hot. Their thali is also worth trying because it gives you a good mix of flavors at a fair price. Portion sizes are generous, and for the rates they charge, it’s definitely value for money.
What stood out even more was the service. The staff is polite, attentive, and quick without hovering around too much. Even when the place got a little busy, we didn’t have to wait long for our food, which says a lot about how well they manage things.
Overall, Hotel Khandesh is a solid option if you’re around Pashan and looking for tasty food, decent prices, and warm service. Would definitely recommend...
