NCC Canteen — Restaurant in Pune

This canteen has one of the worst proprietors I've ever seen for an eatery. After denying the customers from parking their vehicles temporarily in front of this shop, this arrogant owner parks his own vehicle there indefinitely. On pointing this out his response was rude filled with explitives. Also he turned into this responsible citizen all of a sudden by arguing that whole SB road was a no parking zone all the while his own car was parked bang on it. He is the typical arrogant kind of owner who thinks that public road in front of his shop is also his own property.

As for the service - Highly unorganised, chaotic. Expect typical waiting time of upto 45 mins to get an order of sandwich and tea to be served during the evening, 15 mins of this time will be wasted on trying to place an order. You have to stand near the kitchen among shoving and pushing customers to get your order. Moreover there you can see the pathetic, unhygienic condition of the kitchen. We were in a fix as to leave or not after seeing all this. But since we were famished and the person who was accompanying had medical compulsions to have food on time, we decided to have what we ordered. But regret doing so.

Ambience - Customers are allowed to smoke here openly while being seated to much distress of non-smokers and absolutely no regard for the law.

Hygiene - In addition to what I mentioned above about service, the tables and chairs are okay-ish.

There are well managed even smaller eateries, that value their customers way better than this, in Pune. This one is a typical example of those rare ones that ruin the culture and name of a city.

In short - one of my worst eatery experiences in Pune, arrogant staff, untimely service, unhygienic food, smokers' haven, goonda like owner. Never would go...

NCC on SB road is one place which is always jam packed with students.. its a very simple place like most college hangouts with a lot of variety and decent food.. i eat here almost twice a week and whatever iv tried till date is very good.. their rotis and chicken masala is something i have alot.. really nicely flavored chicken gravy with herbs and spices and tender chicken.. their chinese is good too.. love their chicken chowmein.. perfectly balanced.. nicely cooked noodles with a clear white sauce with Chinese sauces.. the chicken loli pop here is great! crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside.. served with a great dipping sauce.. their basic breakfast items like anda burji with maska bread are great too.. service is fast and prices are reasonable ..great for college students always light on...

One of the popular hangout places in Shivajinagar (for the Symbi students that is). The NCC canteen is a mediocre chill out spot with a concoction of Indian and Continental food items...however the quality of food follows a pattern associated with the Canteen...in other words mediocre. The place is divided into 2...one section for smokers (which is outside) and the other for non-smokers. So if you are a weary traveller...looking for some shade...have some affordable cold drinks and food...this is the place for you...and if you are a student at the Symbiosis Campus nearby...well since us college students dont have too much cash...this is definitely the place for you to chill out without...
