Bad experience. Food wasn't as expected..ordered aaoji khhaoji special thali (Rs.450/-) and honestly the food was not worth it..probably because i have had thali at Baba Ramdev thal, Nigdi. There were 4 sabjis..one paneer(very oily) and rest were three sprouts..one rajma, other chhole and third was dal makhni(black lentils)..the issue is..if a person doesn't like sprouts he has nothing left to eat..plus they give u 4 naans(butter) which is maida..thats also unhealthy. The rice was very oily. Not at all worth the hype. Would never recommend it to anyone else. Its wrongly written on the menu.."eat more, pay less"...which should be changed to "eat less, pay more). Ambience too wasn't good..when they say thank you while leaving i felt like abusing that person. Also, i ordered a malai lassi(Rs.50/-) in which there was no malai..how u call that malai lassi god knows. I have had thalis at many places..and believe me this one wasn't even worth Rs.150..you get better thali at Rs.150 at Swad Kitchen, akurdi station.. This thali was limited at Rs.450 and unlimited at Rs 1000/-..what the hell!! You get twice as better thali at Baba Ramdev thal at Rs. 250(unlimited). Its written authentic punjabi thali on the display board of the resto..which is totally false..its not even half as authentic. Punjabi food is rich in taste and is spicy..lassi is not like water..its thik with a dash of malai. Today i realized how good Ramdev Baba thal is after this bad experience. I would request every person who wants to or has tried Aaoji Khhaoji to once visit Ramdev Baba Thal at Nigdi behind nigdi bus stop. The only thing good at Aaoji Khhaoji was their gulab jamun.. perfectly fried outer layer.. Hope this review helps. Thanks...
Read moreFirst of all, nothing great, nothing bad. You cannot complain about food but there is nothing to celebrate except few items.
I went with the family and ordered Dharmendra Paratha Thali which is more than sufficient for 4 people.
They have Thalis based on Indian Cinema heroes/heroines like, Rajkumar Thali, Deepika Padukone Thali, Sunny Deol Thali etc. which is nothing to do with menu but just for creativity they have it.
Secondly if you are not interested in thalis you can order different punjabi dishes, however this place is famous for these jumbo thalis.
No doubt you get jumbo thalis which will cover a table for 4 few items which were good in taste such as
Stuffed parathas Patiyala dry fruit lassi Lachha paratha and some butter
Rest of the bowls which had many varieties of sabjis were of average taste.
This place is famous for jumbo thalis n you get variety of dishes in one thali n thats the attraction otherwise you will have better taste food than this in any ordinary restaurant.
Secondly Dharmendra thali we ordered cost us 1500 + 5%GST
THIS PRICE SEEMS REALLY EXCESSIVE TO WHAT WE GET. ₹1000/₹1200 WOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH TO CONSIDER.
anyway, you can try it once but I...
Read moreAaoji Khaoji is a Punjabi food lovers' paradise. They have every vegetarian dish on their menu that you could think of coming from North India, so kuch so that you are spoilt for choices and ai was personally unable to decide what to order.
I ordered the paneer tikka cheese naan thali which consisted of 2 stuffed naans (of the size of a regualr paratha), dal makhni, rajma and shahi paneer and 2 delicious gulab jamuns. You would have to be starving to be able to finish it alone.
If I talk strictly about about food, I was not very staisfied because of two reasons:- i) My naan didn't have even a hint of cheese in it despite the name being paneer tikka cheese naan. ii) Instead of Rajma, there should've been some other dish as a part of the thali, because the rajma and dal had somewhat similar tastes.
The ambience is not so great. The restaurant is too stuffy. If you're on the 1st floor, you can't even stand up straight because the roof is so low.
Another superb offer that they have is, if you completely finish your thali, you beta discount of ₹30 on it! You can enquire the waiter for more details. Coming to the staff, the person who was serving me was very polite...
