Disappointed with the Service at Rangla Punjab

Visited Rangla Punjab for dinner today. The initial welcome was good, with lively music and a nice ambience—no complaints there!

However, the food quality and service were very disappointing. We ordered a few dishes and two bottles of water. Shockingly, we had to wait 20 minutes just for water. One of the dishes we ordered was Methi Malai, but it barely had any methi—only cream and green peas. Just a few methi leaves were sprinkled on top. If methi isn’t a core part of the dish, then why name it that?

Throughout the dinner, we had to keep waiting for roti during each serving. Lastly, we ordered dal khichdi—placed well in advance—but we received it only after 30-40 minutes, when most of the food was already done. And during all this time, no staff member came to check on our table or service.

What hurt the most was the attitude—the captain and staff were very casual and unprofessional. Even after highlighting everything to the manager, there was no action taken—just the bill handed over, including a service charge, for a service that barely existed.

It felt like they only care about the money, not customer satisfaction. If a customer is paying well, at least provide the service they deserve.

Humble request to Rangla Punjab management – please train your staff better and ensure the experience truly matches the spirit of “Rangla Punjab.” Right now, it felt like a complete mismatch.

Rating: 1/5 Ambience – 4/5 Food – 1/5 Service – 1/5

Not recommended until service improves.

AVOID!!

After going through lot of negative reviews, I still gathered some courage to give this restaurant a try.. And it was a big DISAPPOINTMENT!

1 Butter chicken- Half 3 Roti Half Jeera rice

TOTAL DAMAGE: 900 RS.

Upon entering the establishment, I was immediately struck by the presence of mosquitoes hinted at a disregard for customer comfort and health standards, setting a disappointing tone for the meal ahead. Not a place to get your children.

The most simple and loved dish anyone could order, the butter chicken, was a complete letdown. It lacked the rich, creamy texture one anticipates in this classic dish. It neither had BUTTER nor CREAM but was more like chicken masala.. Butter chicken is a dish that holds a special place in the hearts of Indian cuisine enthusiasts, and to falter on such a fundamental level suggests a serious misstep in the kitchen.

The bread selection did little to salvage the meal. The Butter Kulcha, which should have been a fluffy, buttery delight, was indistinguishable from the butter roti, save for a sprinkling of sesame seeds. This minor addition came with an inexplicable increase in price 85 rs, adding to the overall frustration.

The Jeera rice, usually a fragrant and comforting side, was served cold. The quality of the rice grains was subpar, and the mix with what appeared to be leftover yellow rice was disheartening..

Overall, I would genuine request everyone reading this review to avoid this place and save your hard earned money. A roadside cart would definitely serve u better and more...

Rangla Punjab in Pune is a fantastic place for those who love authentic Punjabi cuisine and a vibrant, cultural dining experience. It’s more than just a restaurant—it's a mini Punjab brought to life with lively decor, folk performances, and delicious food.

Pros:

✔ Authentic Punjabi Ambience – The place is beautifully designed with village-style decor, traditional artwork, and live folk music & bhangra performances, making it feel like a slice of Punjab. ✔ Delicious Food – The buffet offers a wide variety of North Indian dishes, including buttery parathas, dal makhani, chole, and lassi, all rich in flavor and authenticity. ✔ Great for Families & Groups – The lively atmosphere, cultural entertainment, and open seating make it an excellent place for family gatherings and celebrations. ✔ Good Service – The staff is courteous and ensures a great dining experience. ✔ Value for Money – The unlimited buffet with entertainment makes it worth the price.

Cons:

✖ Crowded on Weekends – Due to its popularity, the place can get crowded, leading to long waiting times. ✖ Limited Food Options for Non-North Indian Lovers – If you’re not a fan of Punjabi cuisine, you might find the menu a bit limited. ✖ Slightly Expensive – The pricing is on the higher side, but the overall experience justifies it.

Verdict:

Rangla Punjab in Pune is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys Punjabi food and culture. The combination of great food, traditional music, and a lively ambiance makes it a memorable experience. It's best to book in advance, especially...

Suffered Diarrhoea after eating here, Im not sure where to start. If I should complain to authorities, or food control I don't know, so putting it out here to help others know what to expect and hopefully the restaurant takes note of it. So me and my wife went in after a busy day to have dinner as I had a craving for dhaba food and we'd seen this place going up and down on the highway everyday. Ignoring the minor inconveniences because it's the after effects of the food we had. We Ordered Butter Chicken (Picture attached) which did not look anything like Butter Chicken in the first place. So I complained to the Captain upon which he politely replaced it with their Murg Musallam which still didn't have tandoori pieces in it. Surprised to know their reply that this is their 'style' of making it. The first one had shredded boiled chicken in it which I'm pretty sure must be stale, upset my stomach. Thinking of the great service we enjoyed the meal and filled our bellies, and took the remains as parcel too. Only to realise my next two days I'd suffer Loose motion and diarrhoea symptoms. Couldn't go to work resulting in loss of pay. I'm starting to think of going vegetarian after these miserable two days. Took away my confidence of eating outside. My wife ordered Dal Makhani and Paneer Chatpata along with Butter Naan and Jeera Rice (which btw was served cold). Note for the Restaurant: The Service staff/Kitchen staff is not well trained or doesn't comply to Food Safety Regulations.
