Do you dream often about the creamy butter chicken or the smooth textured Paneer Butter Masala? Along with a Patiala if you please? If yes, head over to the Ultimate Punjabi Kitchen- probably the last word in Pune on everything Punjabi, epicurean per se. Presenting the Punjabi Rasoi, a chain of Restaurant outlets serving delicious flavours from the Land of Milk and Honey!

Even though their main focus revolves around the taste of 'The Punjab' as it was known during the Raj; they serve multi level cuisine like Indo Chinese and others to suit the palate of their wide clientele.

Hard as ever to choose between option at such a big eatery I presumed that kicking off with a Chicken Kalamiri Kebab would not be such a bad idea, would it? Living up to its reputation, the kebab was soft succulent pieces of the bird with a delicious marinade of yogurt, black pepper and kasuri methi. Must try folks!

The next thing I wanted to bite into was a Prawn based oriental dish called Prawn Garlic- light batter fried prawns sauteed in a delicious tangy sauce infused with garlic. I would give it a standing Balle Balle!

The Chef wanted me to try out their signature Paneer appetiser known as Paneer Tikka kebab and I obliged instantaneously- after how can you say no to food?

The best part is yet to come- the main course yeah! Mutton Dilruba- now dilruba is a Persian word adopted into the Hindustani diaspora during the emerging Sufi period. Even though the word stands for 'something ravishing that steals your heart', dilruba is also a legendary Sikh musical instrument invented by the 10th Sikh Guruji, Guru Gobind Singhji, as a lightweight adaptation of the Taus Veena. Trust me people the first dig into this magnificent curry was indeed an orchestra of dilrubas in my mouth- a tad on the sweet-tang side, very creamy and consistent gravy- rich as Richie Rich(now don't ask me who that is). Very strongly recommended to be consumed with in the company of your dilruba( if you don't have one- my condolences).

I love a Dal Tadka- any given day (or night) with lot of fried garlic and condiments- I just love it!- now these lads are are famous for their quintessential Dal Makhani which is delightful- but allow me to complement thile Dal tadka as well- what a pleasant surprise; thick with the tadka simmering as it was being served. Just brilliant!

What's home without a Mother and how can you return without having a whiff of the aromas of Paneer Butter Masala- the evergreen, all weather National Love of Hindustan? Juicy, pieces of the cottage cheese dunked and cooked to perfection in this enticing wholesome sinful gravy- lip smacking.

They have a very Vibrant Bar serving great cocktail, mocktails, liq uor and beer with a very talented Bartender in place.

Folks, I figure you dont want to miss this if you love the cuisine:- go there on any given day- there is live music too to enjoy- you can thank me later- you...

Giving 1 star for their unethical business practices.

Menu prices of food and beverages which you see in zomato are misleading, the actual prices at restaurant are way too higher than that (when asked captain about it he simply smiled, when asked manager he said the prices are old and is not updated, but i went to this place on their 2nd day of opening and prices were same, so dont go their by looking at the menu prices on zomato) If you avail zomato discount they put additional 200rs service charges in bill, when I asked manager about it he said if you pay in cash we will remove service charges but if you pay by zomato you have to pay the service charges, so if you are availing 10-15% discount via zomato you eventually pay almost same amount by paying the extra service charge.

Now coming to a general feedback about restaurant.

An overpriced restaurant with very average taste and average service. The prices doesnt justify the taste, service or ambience. The 5 star ratings on the restaurant have almost same kind of reviews in every rating, not sure how genuine is that.

I am not sure how they have made their menu, Dal makhni is the costliest item in their veg menu with the price of 400 rs, dal khichdi and veg biryani are almost of the same price.

I would prefer going to any other restaurant in nearby Kharadi location...

Avoid this restaurant due to unethical practices! 🚫🚫🚫

I want to clarify that this is not a personal attack, but rather a reflection of the poor practices I encountered. I booked through Zomato, and here’s what went wrong:

Hidden Fees: The restaurant charges ₹25 per person for booking through Zomato. However, when it came time to pay the bill, they added an additional service charge, claiming it was because we paid through Zomato. This feels dishonest, as they are benefiting from Zomato's platform to bring in customers, yet penalizing us with extra charges.

Booking Issues: I made the reservation for 1 person, but since we were a group of 10, they refused to accept payment through Zomato, causing unnecessary hassle.

Poor Food Quality: The food was subpar, with stale curd being used in the gravies. The quality of ingredients was disappointing.

Inflated Prices: The menu prices seemed significantly higher than usual, which felt like an attempt to overcharge customers, especially considering the overall poor quality of the food and service.

Slow Service: After starters, we had to wait over 30 minutes for the main course to arrive. Service was incredibly slow and unprofessional.

I would recommend avoiding this place if you're looking for a smooth dining experience with good food and...

Very disappointing service. If you are in a rush or expect good service then avoid this restaurant. They have 1 person handling 10 tables. The person was continuously running and keeping other tables waiting for their order. I had to ask 3-4 times just to serve/provide water. They served starters late and that too without green chutney and spoons /forks...paratha without sauce/pickle. I literally cancelled my rest of the order after spending 1.5 hours and left. No finger bowl was given. In the bill they charged the service charge, I asked the captain at least have courtesy to offer basic service to the person coming to eat in your restaurant then take the service charge. He gave me an excuse that because of weekend rush not able to manage , bhai tere pure tables bhi occupied nahi hai aur tu weekend PE Aisa excuse de Raha hai..anyways..

What a nice experience when it comes to dining in Wagholi area. Its ambiance is that of chilled out Dhaba style with beds in between and regular seating options for couples or large groups. I found the menu well prices vis a vis the taste and presentation. Sometimes the waiters will suggest their own but you can choose whatever you want. I wish the printed menus come back as scanning QR codes is really irritating as menu isn't formatted properly. We ordered some mocktails, a sangria and beers. Beers were served chilled but they only have pints. Sangria could be better. In starters we had Mutton Seekh Kebab, Prawns Koliwada, Surmai Fry and Paneer Tikka Kebab. All were tasty.. Especially Mutton. In mains we had a Chicken Biryani and Veg Biryani.. It was nice. Overall 4/5 for them. The men's washroom door wouldn't lock.
