I’ve visited this restaurant before, but this time I happened to go on Valentine's Day, and the experience was a mixed bag. Let me start with the positive – the food is fantastic. No complaints there. The flavors and quality are consistently good, and that’s definitely the highlight of the visit. However, my experience wasn’t all positive. Upon arrival, I was told the entire place was fully booked, which was fine. But I was seated in the smoking zone with the assurance that I would be moved once a table became available. Unfortunately, I ended up having my meal in that same smoking section, which made for a rather uncomfortable experience. Another issue that caught me off guard was the Goa-style cover charge. As soon as I was seated, I was asked to pay Rs. 1000 per person as a cover charge. This wouldn’t have been a huge problem if the service had matched the price. Unfortunately, there was a long wait, especially for drinks – I had to wait 15 minutes just for a drink to arrive. The service felt disorganized and slow, and it didn’t seem like it was being managed well, especially given the upfront cover charge I paid. When I raised this issue with the captain and the owner, they acknowledged the problem but explained it was due to the rush of the day. To sum it up, I do recommend the food – it’s definitely worth trying. But I’d advise being selective about when you visit. Avoid weekends or special occasions like Valentine’s Day if you don’t want to deal with long waits and crowded conditions. As for the cover charge, I’d say not a good idea. Paying upfront leaves you with no choice but to endure long waits, so unless you’re okay with that, I’d suggest just paying for what you consume and leaving if you're not happy with...
Read moreWhat an absolute waste of time and money. I recently visited The Silent Partner cafe with a friend, and the experience was infuriating from start to finish. We ordered two cold coffees, and they took an eternity to prepare. While waiting, we assumed the café might be worth the wait given its seemingly appealing ambience. However, we were gravely mistaken.
There was a water bottle on our table. We thought it was just regular drinking water for customers, something that wouldn’t be charged since we didn’t order it, so we drank some of it. After what felt like an age, the cold coffees finally arrived. They were a complete letdown – utterly tasteless and not remotely worth the wait.
When it came time to pay, I was absolutely livid. They had the audacity to charge us Rs. 250 for each cold coffee, making the total Rs. 500 for both. I have no issue paying a premium if the quality justifies it, but this was just a rip-off. To add insult to injury, they charged us Rs. 60 for the water bottle. This is triple the MRP and blatantly illegal. Under Indian law, restaurants are not allowed to charge more than the MRP if they just hand over a bottle like in a shop. The law allows a higher charge only if the water is served in a glass as part of the dining experience, not if the bottle is simply placed on the table.
"The Silent Partner" is a joke. The service is slow, the drinks are overpriced and tasteless, and their practices are borderline fraudulent. Save your time and money – go...
Read moreHad a horrible experience today while we were a group and were waiting for some other friends so that we could all go in together and, and in tge mean so some lady from our group had to use the washroom but the person who was at the entry bluntly refused for the usage of the washroom, and on top that he was way to arrogant with his tone and language, strange was that he claimed to be the manager of the restaurant who was not even in a proper dress code, his clothes and total appearance was way below standards and eventually we had to move to the adjacent place at the Highlands, keep up the good work and loose customers. We all will make sure that we spread the word.....
