Extremely Disappointed – Stone in Food and Terrible Service!
I recently had a very disappointing and frankly shocking experience at Tyk Tyk Restaurant, and I feel it’s important to share this review so that others don’t go through what I did.
I visited the restaurant with my family for dinner, expecting a decent meal and some quality time together. We ordered paneer curry, jeera rice, and wheat rotis. Things started going downhill almost immediately after we placed the order.
Firstly, the wheat rotis took an unbelievably long time to arrive. We waited for over 30 minutes, and even after repeated reminders, the staff kept saying “just 5 more minutes.” Meanwhile, the paneer curry and rice were served early, so they got cold while we were still waiting for the rotis. The whole idea of serving a full meal together seemed to be lost on this place. To make it worse, when the rotis finally arrived, they were cold, dry, and rubbery—not at all worth the wait.
However, the most serious issue was not the delay. It was the fact that I found a small stone inside the paneer curry. Yes, an actual stone—about the size of a green pea, hard and sharp enough to cause serious dental injury. When I bit into it, I felt a sudden sharp pain in my jaw. Luckily, I didn’t break a tooth, but it could have been much worse.
Finding a stone in food is not just a matter of poor quality—it's a serious food safety hazard. It clearly shows that the kitchen hygiene and food preparation standards are severely lacking. This is not something that can be brushed off as a minor mistake.
When I called the waiter and showed the stone, the response was shocking. There was no proper apology, no concern, and absolutely no responsibility taken. One staff member casually said, “It sometimes happens with the masala.” That kind of excuse is unacceptable. Stones do not belong in food under any circumstances.
By this point, we had completely lost our appetite. The food was unsafe, the rotis were late and of poor quality, and the staff seemed indifferent to our experience. We ended up leaving the meal half-eaten and walked out feeling cheated and frustrated.
Overall, my experience at Tyk Tyk Restaurant was terrible—unsafe food, unreasonably slow service, and careless customer handling. I will never visit again and strongly advise others to stay away from this place. If they can’t ensure basic food safety or deliver an order on time, they shouldn’t be in the restaurant business.

Read moreVisited in 11/05 Sunday eve for a dinner with family. Decision was purely on the basis of ratings on internet for this place.
As we entered, instant impression was the lack of staff.
Found a seat on the rooftop area and settled.
Ordered a soup while we decide for more. Placed the subsequent orders (a veg full platter and penne pasta). In the interim the soup arrived. The taste was mediocre and extremely spicy from standard of Manchow soup we get served elsewhere. The taste was also loud and comparable to a street vendor. Not expected from this kind of place & ratings.
Somehow finished it while the veg platter and pasta arrived. Veg platter was loaded with cold paneer and veg starters. A waiter came and served the platter in quarter plate itself, leaving no room for sides and cutlery. Ok, then the same waiter came with a smile asking for review on the food. We pointed the shortcomings and also the standard of service (the quarter plate was filled to the fullest) but he quickly took away the leftover platter to heat it up a bit while ignored the concern with the plate. We waited for the heated platter to arrive, we also called for more sides and chutney&sauce platter. This took ages to arrive, in fact only came in after everything was finished,
Pasta was ordered for kids, they didn’t complained :) we tried too it was OK. The cream was not mixed properly and we could notice dry pasta in between the creamy sauce. Something could be ignored.
All while this, the dishes from the soup we had and the other stuff were all lying on the table. We called few times but then thought of managing that ourselves going by the experience so far.
Didn’t continue for the main course after an unpleasant experience with the soup and starters itself so called for the bill.
A waitress came right after the bill was sent and stood by our side pushing to make the payment asap because there are customers waiting in reception!!!! While we exit there was huge rush which tells this behaviour however you could have waited for few minutes.
During this whole session, I also observed people in the nearby tables, complaining about late orders and food quality.
All in all, we had a bad experience both with the food taste and service on the floor. In fact the standards are much lower than any street side restaurant in the area.

Read moreFrom the moment I stepped into Tyk Tyk, I was greeted by an inviting atmosphere. The modern decor, combined with warm lighting, set the stage for an enjoyable dining experience. The staff were amazingly well-trained. Special kudos to Tinku and Rimmi—their attentive service elevated the entire meal. And let’s not forget the courteous hostess, Lila, who made us feel right at home.
Culinary Journey: Hits: Malaysian Soup: A revelation! The aromatic blend of lemongrass, coconut milk, and spices danced on my palate. Each spoonful was a comforting hug on a beautiful evening. Mini Chicken Platter: A delightful assortment of flavors. The succulent chicken , and the cigar rolls were amazing. Their Korean fried chicken was good too. Misses: Indian Main Course - Roganjosh: Unfortunately, the Roganjosh fell short of expectations. The flavors lacked depth, and the meat wasn’t as tender as I’d hoped. Aglio e Olio Pasta: Surprisingly, the classic Italian dish didn’t live up to its reputation here. The pasta lacked the punch and olive oil richness I anticipated, and had too much of parmeson cheese ( I'm guessing) which over powered the dish Final Thoughts: Tyk Tyk is a gem in Kharadi, offering a delightful mix of flavors. While some dishes exceeded expectations, others left room for improvement. The outstanding service and inviting ambiance make it a place worth revisiting. Next time, I’ll skip the Roganjosh and dive straight into that heavenly Malaysian Soup! 🍲 Last feedback for the upper management would be to please at least start serving beer and wine as the food and the ambiance is amazing to pair a beautiful bottle of a nice red wine 🍷 or a glass of nice draught beer...
