Update: I thought it was nice until the restaurant showed their true colors. Animal like behaviour of the staff full of attitude, even when I was soft spoken and polite.

At the entrance, the gatekeeper practically flew out of the door like a witch screaming you can’t park here. Go and park on a distant heap of cement and dirt. Extremely annoying and rubbish!

We had the most awful experience dining here. The restaurant was virtually empty and the staff didn't seem interested in doing anything serving. We ordered our meal which was mediocre at best. During the meal, there was a power cut and the lights went off for some while. My husband went to use the washroom but there was no light in there. On the way out, there was a protruding nail by the door that ripped his shirt. We raised it with the staff and no one seemed to want to engage with us at all. The cashier, Himanshu, purporting to be the manager walked off blatantly saying "this is not our issue" which further infuriated us and exacerbated what was already a sore experience. We asked to speak to the manager and were put through to someone called Ajay who was just as bad as the rest of the staff. We would have quite happily let the matter go and paid our bills had they responded in a more remorseful manner.

Overall, terrible experience, wholly inadequate staff and mediocre food. With Amritsar being a foodie city, there are considerably better places to eat. Not recommended at all. Amritsari Haveli transported me straight to the heart of Punjab! The warm, inviting ambiance, with its traditional decor and soft lighting, created the perfect setting for a delicious meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. We started with the famous Amritsari kulcha and lassi, a classic combination that never disappoints. The kulcha was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, stuffed with a flavorful potato filling. The lassi was creamy and refreshing, with just the right amount of sweetness. For the main course, we opted for the mutton biryani, a fragrant and flavorful dish that was cooked to perfection. The tender mutton pieces were infused with aromatic spices, and the rice was fluffy and well-seasoned. Overall, our experience at Amritsari Haveli was exceptional.
