Gopal Sweets near VR Punjab Mall:
The place is a delightful culinary gem that offers a variety of mouth-watering dishes. With its inviting ambiance and delectable menu, it's a popular choice for food enthusiasts in the area. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying their Pav Bhaji, Dahi Bhalla, Butter Naan, Ras-Malai, and honey-chilli grilled fries, and here's my review of each dish:
Pav Bhaji: Gopal Sweets' Pav Bhaji is a true delight for the taste buds. The bhaji (a spicy vegetable curry) is cooked to perfection, packed with flavours and spices. The buttery pav (soft bread roll) perfectly complements the bhaji, creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. It's a satisfying dish that will leave you craving for more.
Dahi Bhalla: The Dahi Bhalla at Gopal Sweets is a refreshing and tangy dish that is perfect for those hot summer days. The soft lentil dumplings soaked in chilled yogurt, topped with tangy tamarind chutney and aromatic spices, create a burst of flavours in every bite. It's a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savoury, making it a must-try item on their menu.
Butter Naan: The Butter Naan at Gopal Sweets is a heavenly treat. The naan is soft, fluffy, and generously slathered with butter, adding richness and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. It pairs wonderfully with their curries and gravies, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Ras-Malai: Gopal Sweets' Ras-Malai is a decadent dessert that will satisfy any sweet tooth. The soft and spongy cottage cheese dumplings soaked in sweetened milk, flavoured with cardamom and garnished with pistachios, are pure bliss. Each bite is a heavenly combination of creamy, sweet, and nutty flavours that will leave you wanting more.
Honey-Chilli Grilled Fries: Gopal Sweets' honey-chilli grilled fries are a unique twist on the classic French fries. The fries are perfectly grilled to achieve a crispy exterior and a tender interior. The combination of sweet honey and spicy chilli adds a delightful flavour profile to the dish, making it an addictive and enjoyable snack.
Overall, Gopal Sweets near VR Punjab Mall is a fantastic culinary destination offering a range of delicious dishes. Whether you're in the mood for savoury street food like Pav Bhaji and Dahi Bhalla or indulgent desserts like Ras-Malai, this place has something to satisfy every palate. The attentive service and inviting atmosphere further enhance the dining experience. I highly recommend visiting Gopal Sweets for a memorable...
Read moreI ordered Idli Sambhar along with other items vide my order no. 598 Invoice no. 13598 at 17:46:55 Today i.e. 29th April 2024. I have been eating South Indian food since my child hood as I studied in a school run by South Indian Educational Society and very fond of the South Indian Food that I even cook South Indian Food at home my self despite the fact that we have cook at home and my spouse also cook very tasty food , including South Indian Food.
But I NEVER , I repeat NEVER tasted such a rubbish Sambhar which has no trace of arhar daal which is the main ingredient , neither it was having any flavour of imli, nor coconut, nor mustard seed, etc. in addition the bowl was full of potatoes giving me feeling of puri aloo. When I complained about the quality and taste of sambhar to the captain on duty , he referred my complaint to the Manager and when the same complaint was shared with the manager , and asked about who is the chef, he informed me that the whole food is prepared in our factory somewhere in Panchkula. his means that the food served is NOT freshly cooked and if the taste sambhar was so rubbish at Kharar, the same would have also been served in all the out lets of GOPAL Sweets which surprising.. The Manager even tried to bribe me with some free sweet dish or some additional food which he wants to pack for me. We go there as customers and consumers and not as begger that if one food not right they can bribe the complainant with some other free food. I never leavr food in my plate as it is not permitted and prohibited in our religion and is punishable to contribute equivalent of one and quarter ( Sawa serr) as fine! This for the first time that i left the dinning table with food in my plate! I would have given stars in negative but unfortunately there is no option. There must be provisions to give remarks and reviews in...
Read moreI recently visited Gopal Sweets in Kharar and had a mixed experience.Starting with the positives, the location is convenient and easy to find. The decor is pleasant, with a traditional touch that gives it a nice, homely feel. Some of the sweets, particularly the kaju barfi and rasgulla, were fresh and flavorful, living up to the reputation that Gopal Sweets has built over the years. However, there are several areas that need improvement. The cleanliness of the dining area was not up to the mark. Tables were not promptly cleaned, and the floor could have been better maintained. This detracted from the overall dining experience. The savory items were hit or miss. While a few dishes like the samosas were enjoyable, others were too oily and lacked consistency in flavor. The thali I ordered had small portions and was served lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing.Service was another area where my experience fell short. The staff, although polite, seemed overwhelmed and were not very attentive. It took quite some time to place our order and for the food to arrive. When issues with the food were pointed out, the response was polite but not very proactive.Overall, Gopal Sweets has some good aspects, especially with certain sweets and its traditional ambiance. However, improvements in cleanliness, food consistency, and service are necessary to make it a more enjoyable dining destination. With some attention to these areas, it has the potential to provide a much...
