Notomoro — Restaurant in Rajasthan

No words to describe the best dining experience ever In Udaipur. I’m speechless and spellbound !!!!! Till 2 days back I felt that Udaipur was a lousy and dull place for a typical MUMBAI girl like me but after visiting Notomoro I can easily say that this place rocks and how !!! It’s sheer heaven for roof top party place lovers. This place exhibits class and chic in the most indulgent manner. Firstly the crowd is sassy and the music is foot tapping. One can’t control himself from enjoying a little gig here. There is definitely no place like this in Udaipur that’s why the name, Notomoro is pretty apt. The restaurant is situated on the 4th floor of the beautiful Fern hotel and has 2 sections, indoors and the most stunning outdoor seating. Outdoors is packed in this season as the chilly evenings over a few drinks and a little fire around the table is an ideal preference of every party buff. The bar is huge and well stocked.

I take a bow to the show runners of this place, Divya and Varun who lead the team under their guidance. Their hard word and perseverance to make this place a class apart is apparent and highly appreciated. The staff and service is impressive and impeccable. The team of Milind, Vikram, Naresh & Onkar were the kindest and most courteous ever. No words to thank them enough. A special thanks to each of them. We were pampered and taken care of like Vip guests and I noticed the same service offered to all guests. The food and drinks came promptly to our table and we didn’t find a single flaw in any dish whatsoever. I wish MUMBAI places would be able to match the standards. It’s a pure vegetarian restaurant and so it’s even more interesting for us as we had a lot to choose from. What we tried is as follows;

We tried a few Mocktails like berry blast, green apple mojito, strawberry Mocktail and an anaar flavoured drink. All were zesty and refreshing.

Manchow soup. Served in pretty cups and ideal for this weather. Fantastic flavours and perfect texture.

Green salad. Fresh and juicy vegetables. Ideal start.

Kumbhkaran. Basically button sized tandoori mushrooms with the perfect marinade. Loved the charcoal flavour.

Lebanese mezze platter. Labneh, hummus, baba Ghanoush served with lavash & pita. Fantastic.

Paneer chilly. Good portion and hearty flavour.

Sarson gobhi. My favourite style of enjoying broccoli. The marinade was simply wow and I can’t get over the perfect chargrilled taste.

Dal makhani. An absolute must try. The signature dish here. Rarely do I enjoy the black dal in all places and this one is among the top favourites places of mine for dal makhani. Not all chefs get this right but here they have expertised this dish. Do try without fail.

Sindhi kadhi chawal. Again a fantastic combination. Loved the tangy curry with rice. A must try Again.

Nutty Nutella waffle. Nice presentation and ideal for all waffle lovers.

Betel leaf crisp with gulkand ice cream. Brilliant dessert to end the meal with. Nothing better than this. A must try here in desserts. Loved the frozen betel leaf combination with soft creamy rose flavoured icecream.

This is going to be my pit stop every time I’m in Udaipur henceforth. Highly recommend this place to all who travel here or live in the city to shake a leg and relish some mouth watering dishes here. If I had my way it would be a 10/5 from me. Keep up the good work guys and hope to come...

Update after 2 years- I visited this place again after such a long time on New Year’s Eve. Although the place was almost empty with not so many guests but let me tell you this is the most underrated place in Udaipur. One of my favourite place now to have cocktails in Udaipur. The bartender was so friendly & smiling. Nobody was greedy for money unlike other restaurants especially on the lake side. We had 5-6 cocktails & an appetiser also & it was reasonable. The cocktails were amazing, can claim them the best in Udaipur. Loved our time there. Can’t wait to visit again & absolutely recommended.

I wouldn't mind paying a premium for the food if it justifies itself with great taste but at Notomoro, I was disappointed by their food taste. In fact, I had to return some items because they were stale and smelling.

Notomoro is over-priced pretty much for all their menu items but they suffer miserably in their food quality and taste department. Whatever we ordered was salty and didn't taste like it was fresh.

Lastly, it was so hot on the roof top whereas the temperature outside in general was not bad, they should think about putting some blowers or something out there.

Overall, if you go here, you are enjoying the views of Udaipur from their roof top but paying almost a very high price (food+drinks) without getting the quality...
