HOTEL KABUR : Review
Location : located near Pelling square , near Big Bowl Restaurant and Lets Go Travels office beside PAKSAM homestay.
its located on a turn , so prking for four wheeler might seem a problem but if you are coming on bike , you can park next to the cafe .
Visitor’s Review :
You might have heard about Hotel Kabur , as it’s the first hotel in Pelling .
People still talk about the food here !
Now Kabur is being run by a completely new management team.
Hotel Kabur has got chill vibes to it , interior comprises of fire place , antiques and artefacts from all over Sikkim which are either antique or gifted by tourists who have visited this place .
It has balcony where there are pair of tables to dine , view of lower pelling and kanchanjunga can be seen .
Kabur is the name of twin peaks you see clearly from Pelling !
I will attach the menu cards
Please take care about stairs in balcony , i almost got hit by those stairs while going back because it’s just in the way . They should look for some preventative steps for those stairs .
There’s a antique item store that will soon be opening, as of Feb 2021 it’s under renovation.
You get rooms to stay on very nominal pricing , with attached washrooms and water heaters.
You can hear relax beats and strumming of guitar during evenings.
Food is made by a local chef , when in Sikkim everyone wants to try MOMOS , its sad to see neither Elgin nor Kabur serves momos .
Also try Cherry Brandy when staying in Pelling its a local drink and will help you relax from days workout .
Washrooms are clean , and rooms are spacious , they have got free wifi .
It was a nice experience visiting here , i will attach images that will answer all your doubts !!
I would prefer everyone to visit here if you are with friends it’s very nice chill environment.
Well , this was my personal experience with Hotel Kabur .

Read moreVisited the restaurant to have dinner with family. The view is good and one can see the mountain range. That is about the only good thing about this place.
The restaurant was dark with soft lighting, which made it depressing and gave way for a lot of mosquitos. The lamps over the table were not clean with dust and webs.
Our waiter was also the chef and perhaps the manager or owner. First of all, half of the things on the menu were not available. When we asked for the veg momos he said that it would take time to prepare around 30mins so we ordered Egg fried rice, veg Manchurian, mashed potatoes with cheese and sweet lime soda.
The sweet lime soda was not sweet at all and had more soda than lime. I ignored this flaw and went with the spirit of the holiday. However, the mashed potatoes with cheese was a joke. The potatoes were merely boiled and broken down with a few grated cheese put on top. The potatoes were not mashed properly, nor seasoned and were not accompanied with any cream. We received a very unhelpful reply with no attempt to satisfy customer request and complaints.
We had to send the dish back and were waiting for the other dishes as 30 minutes had passed since ordering. We waited for some time before following up on our order and were surprised with the answer. We were told it would take another 30minutes for the order. We did not place the order for the momos as he said it would be delayed by 30mins to prepare. But he neglected to inform us that this dish would take more than an hour.
We wasted our time waiting for the food and ended up canceling the order. The waiter cum chef cum owner lacked proper customer service etiquette and was inexperienced on handling customers requirements.
I would not go to this...
Read moreOur last stoppage in Sikkim was Pelling, West Sikkim, and we decided to stay at Hotel Kabur, in the Upper Pelling. Tanay, the host was very welcoming and learning about his background and how decided to leave the city life and live in the calm and peace of mountains was somewhere hard to fathom. He helped us with the overall exploration experience of Pelling by mapping out the places to go especially the Rani Dunga hike which was the highlight of our whole trip. Talking about Hotel Kabur, the best hotel we stayed in during our trip, with utmost cleanliness in the room ( which we had complaints in other hotels we stayed in), and had the most comfortable sleep and the view from the room was surreal in every sense. As Tanay mentioned that the Kanchenjunga range is visible from the restaurant, we waited for 2 days as it was all cloudy but finally, on our last evening, we had the most beautiful view of the mountains which seemed to be so near yet so far. Tanay was always helpful in making the arrangements for the transport, suggesting the food combinations and just a call away for anything required. All in all, it was the best stay and the last leg...
