Sher-E-Punjab Hotel — Restaurant in Siliguri

Beware before you walk into this restaurant, extremely overhyped I would say.The location is a prime one and ambience from outside looks very nice . We were a group of 10 who visited them for lunch maybe around 4pm.We were served the dum biryani quite quickly and soon placed an order for pepsi and soda which wasn't eventually served for almost 10-15 minutes,so we had to call them up and request for two to three times and then we were lucky enough to get them(we wanted to have with the biryani but alas!!!). Okay next our friend had ordered for thali and they gave rice and one item,next we had to check from the menu and inform them what all items are there ,so that they can eventually serve us one by one(unlike elsewhere we were being served all the items in thali together and maybe the dessert part would have been given at the end.. that's how we knew it!!but here the concept is a bit different...one item at a time ,then eat and inform and they get you the next ).By that time the rice might get cold but that's a business strategy I suppose to add up to your bill.Two bowl of plain curd took twenty minutes to be served.No idea of giving glasses for water,we requested that too..and very dirty glasses were given (they gave only two because we asked for the kids,rest for the adults we had to ask again!!!)We somehow finished the food and go to the washbasin only to find out no water was there,so you stand till the time some busy waitresses come to help you with washing hands by pouring water from water bottles.Guys dare not go to the washroom because you can see the toilet hasn't been flashed (all thanks to no water system or whatever -no idea).The public urinals or the ones at railway station are much better and hygienic.With this condition of no water new diners were most welcome and the dishes in the washbasin area were heaped up along with a clogged basin.Staffs when informed turned a deaf ear and I eventually managed to see a waitress wiping and cleaning plates and running to serve people.I mean what management and hospitality.Is that only good food that matters at the cost of money???? There's no hygiene part to be taken care Highly saddened by this scenario...not...

So it was around 11 at night, i came tired and hungry to have some good food at your famous Sher E Punjab restaurant in siliguri .I entered with my husband. No one came to attend . I went to the bar counter to call someone to take an order . After a long time one girl with black T-shirt (H&M) came and gave me an old 2024 Durga pujo menu that also when i asked for it.. they did not asked for a water also .when i asked for a regular water, one girl with white T shirt dumped an old used bottle of water and 2 water goblet (Dirty )and went away.She didn’t even pour the water. I am also from hospitality background so i know the first thing should be in table is water .after all this I thought of going out without having anything , but since i was hungry i had to order . It took decay to serve a veg and mix chowmien.(45min)….the group of 6 people came after me ,but they got served first and we were only two. When i told them why it is taking so long for my order.she replied (jiska jesa order hoga wese milega) literally the same word . Finally my food came , I am a vegetarian and they gave only one tong for both order.she wanted to tell that isi ek se veg , non veg kha lo. How disgusting…THIS WAS THE WORST EVER EXPERIENCE IN THIS RESTAURANT .I paid EXTRA service charge without getting any service.Being one of the top restaurant and providing this kind of service is not worth it .I have been in so many outlets of yours in Kolkata and in other cities also. But I have never got this kind of pathetic service. I will never COME BACK here again and will not recommend others to come at least in this location. Or you should give training to your staff about what service actually is. Otherwise your siliguri outlet will not work. It’s a ( -0/10) rating...

I would like to give - ( minus reviews ) if that would be in preference. Plz never visit, ( Sher e Punjab ) this, restaurant, bar, also dont book any private hall service for this place, they running a big restaurant, hotel and say we don't have gazar, they dont allow us to sit in restaurant when they have Shutter open at 9 pm saying to shift in public bar restaurant where we are family tried to sit in family restaurant of there's , the waiter is very arrogant, not any service need to go and call the waiter again and again, also If I speak on particular drink they served us sprite an our order was fresh lime soda and when asked to the waiter he said it's fresh lime soda, actually the thing is the waiter is himself so much drunk, he keeps on asking the same question again and again on giving orders also.he doens't have any paper pad or can remember just keeps on aksing.this is 6th time I am facing the same consequences.now finally left over them and so would advise others plz don't visit them and waste your Money.

Plz belive never book or think for this hotel Sher e Punjab..just they are in main road this doesn't mean they can do...
