Never had this bad experience before in any of the other a2b restaurants I have tried across tamilnadu and karnataka. The service person was not enthusiastic to work or let us know the availability of the items and when we asked questions about certain items from menu he was not completing the statement/answer.
Examples:
When asked for fried rice, he mentioned it will be available only after 7.40 PM and we were actually trying to order that item exactly at 7.30 PM so I mentioned we can wait and later he was not able to come up with a better reason to say the item is not available. So ordered poori instead.
When asked for baby corn Manchurian dry for starters, he took the order first and came back and said we have only two items/options for baby corn ,he told about the first option but never talked about the second option or was totally confused. Then another person(Second service person) came to his help and tried to make his actions acceptable but I shared the valid reasons and then he confirmed the items that are available.
We have faced a stranger situation after ordering that starter, the second service person came to us and said sorry sir by mistakenly we billed the baby corn starter to some other persons table(Due to error in typing) and that got added to their bill. So we will pay it ourselves as that customer cannot pay for the item that was never ordered. Can you pay only this amount directly to my account through cash/upi and it will not be added to your bill. We were worried that they are trying to give the item someone else ordered / cancelled so waited first for the dish to check its quality and luckily that was fine. So towards the end , we got the bill only for the other items and paid with card for that. Only for the starter we were given/shown the other table’s bill and asked to pay 262 directly to the service person account. Not sure if this was a valid scenario hence mentioning this in the review. Usually people/service persons confirms that we billed the item for someone else which got cancelled and request others to take it up in other restaurants and confirm the taste/quality openly.
We went to the main billing counter and asked about this billing issue and they asked us to forgive the second service person as he was new. However during a different scenario the service person confirmed he worked in Karur before. I am sure it was a tactic, so be aware of this.
And A2B please confirm this, I have tried your various outlets(Multiple from Chennai, Ooty, Shoolagiri, Salem, Multiple from Karnataka) and usually they replace the plate for every dish that we order. Basically each dish comes with a default/separate plate. But here for the first time the second service person came and put the dosa on the plate of poori that we ordered first and said we won’t provide separate plate and will charge for the new plate if you want. Never heard this before. He also confirmed that he worked in Karur outlet before and they too have the same policy.
Fortunately the food was good(Way better than shoolagiri outlet which I rated as the worst as per my last experience). I can give 7.5 or 8 rating out of 10 for food taste and 4 for service rating out of 10 for this Namakkal outlet
By the way I am from tamilnadu and really love eating some of the dishes like Poori or Dosa. I felt really bad about the service from this outlet since I had the best experience in almost all other outlets(except for shoolagiri – it depends on luck/crowd there). I am only sharing this review because of my love for food and expecting the restaurant service perons to treat at least other customers better. Attaching the bills...
Read moreAbsolute appalling service by A2B on 22nd DEC 2024. Ordered food but server had no clue on what's available and what's not. We wanted to have something quick. If told properly we would have had something quick to serve.
Rude attitude and behaviour: we requested the table to be joined as we were 10 people. We went with an expectation to have good experience . Instead they started giving lecture that the 1st server said he will not serve if joined together. We tolerated that hoping we are here just to get some food and understood that A2B does not care for giving a good experience. The 2nd server tried to convince us but it was too late by then as we already split up.
Then the food was severed but cold without any side dish like chutney or sambar which we requested. Then they were hesitant to bring it. By the time we explained why we wanted a chutney due to allergic reasons, it was served but unfortunately again too late.we waited for almost 15 mins for just the chutney to be served. While we got it, the server looked at us and commented at sarcastically.
Poor hygiene: if you go the hand wash area, you will never visit them again. No other A2B has so poor hygiene as that of Namakkal Town branch.
Stinky toilets: this is in complete contrast to the amount A2B charges through its menu rates. 1 good reason that the brand is losing its value and continue to decline. ALMOST EVERYONE WHO WAITED FOR THE TOILET FELT EXTREMELY DISGUSTING.
PLEASE VISIT AT YOUR OWN RISK OF HEALTH and have no expectation of even min care and experience. We spent Rs 1610 but left highly unsatisfied. Thanks to A2B current management for creating such an appaling...
Read moreVery very Worst experience at Namakkal a2b. They were not providing coconut chutney which is the basic side dish for our South Indian breakfast items like idly, dosa at 8.45 am itself. The manager who is a north indian who doesn't know the south indian custom is careless about the preparation. They said coconut chutney was over. It was not a big crowded day. Still they said chutney was over. Even if that is acceptable, they should have made it ready before it is over. That is the proper management. Even if the waiter had told it was not available , I could have ordered something like poori and potato.
I am a big fan of a2b . I am eating in all branches since 15 years. This is the first time I am seeing this.
